in the last 30 years, the GQP has only won the popular vote ONCE.

In the last 30 years of presidential elections, the Republicans have only won the popular vote ONCE.

Why is that? What does that say about their policies?

Should they continue with their current policy of incessantly lambasting the left 24-7?
Or should they consider changing their policy to win more American voters or continue down the path of radical extremism, Trumpism and Qanon conspiracy theories?

Would you like to see Republicans win more votes? I'm probably missing something here which is why this doesn't compute for me but I have a difficult time seeing people on the left sitting around either thinking or wishing more people would vote for Republican candidates.

1988, 2004. CAN'T COUNT?

OUR FOUNDERS DID NOT WANT COASTAL URBAN SPRAWLS RUNNING THE NATION.

What about Americans who are neither Left nor Right? Somewhere inbetween. I used to be in the Republicans corner but I just couldn't stomach their radical extremism.

Both Dems and Reps have become way too extreme for my liking. Ideally, I'd like to see more moderate Republicans that aren't in the NRA'S pockets and are fiscally responsible and aren't wedged up Trump's anal cavity but they are few and far between.
It really bothered me when Lindsey Graham said, "If we don't fix the voting laws, we will never win another presidential election."
Shouldn't the Republicans work harder to win ALL Americans votes rather than 'gerrymander' them? Shouldn't they change their policies rather than cowtow to extremists and racial groups? Because what they've been doing for the last 30 years clearly isn't working.

Another sip of Clorox will clear your head.

2020 - 30 = 1990.

Back in the day there used to be liberal Republicans and blue dog/conservative Democrats. Those types are fewer and far between in today's polarized environment.

Take me for example. I'm a lifelong Republican who didn't vote for Trump either time. Let's be honest, I wasn't going to vote for Hillary. But in theory I could have been a candidate as a non-Trump supporter. Was she really appealing to me when she called me a deplorable? If she was trying to win the votes of ALL Americans, calling millions of us deplorables doesn't seem like the ideal way to go about it imo.

Politicians have always divided people. It's what they do. And it's what people like us do on this board as well.

Well, for some on the right, not voting for Trump twice would classify you a far-left lib.

I don't blame you for not voting for Hillary. The only reason I did was to keep Trump out. It wasn't hard to predict he'd be a disaster.

Did you vote for Biden?

in the last fifty years the demmycrats have only elected three presidents......two because they weren't George Bush and one because he wasn't Donald Trump......no demmycrat can win an election run on who they are, only on who they aren't......

Just goes to show you how bad George Bush and Donald Trump truly were.

Last 50 years? Three presidents? Lemme see. 2021 - 50 = 1971
so I would count:

Jimmy Carter (1976)
Bill Clinton (1992-1996)
Barack Obama (2008-2021)
Joe Biden (2020-2024)

That makes four not three. Looks like PostMortemPussy went to the Donald Trump School of Elementary Math.
