As a resident of Atlanta, I pay an extra $500 a year in taxes so that Marjorie Taylor-Greene can cosplay rugged individualism in one of the most welfare-dependent parts of the state.

Back in 2009, researchers from Georgia State University found that the 10-county metro Atlanta region had 43 percent of the state's population and generated 53 percent of the state's taxable income. That area contributed 51 percent of state revenue but got back just 37 percent of state expenditures. In essence, each metro Atlantan cut a check for $500 each year for every resident elsewhere.

That depends on what level of criminality- BANK ROBBERS AND MURDERERS YES- Shoplifters, Car thieves, illegal aliens, probably not so much!

Are you stupid enough to think that we should do away with making robbing banks a felony just because there will always be people still robbing banks in spite of the law?

Just because some people will always break laws- DOES NOT MEAN WE SHOULD NOT HAVE LAWS!

Laws are intended to curb crime- NOT expected to totally prevent them because that is impossible!

GA is a gerrymandered state...the State Legislature is unbalanced because that gerrymandering.

For example, in 2020 in the State House, Democrats got 49% of the vote, but only walked away with 43% of the seats. Conservatives got 51% of the vote, but walked away with 57% of the seats.

That's gerrymandering and not defensible.
