130 Americans will commit suicide today, but Democrats don't care

"All Republicans/Right Wingers are <insert insult here>" is a pretty common phrase. You and I both know that's true.

That said, agreed on "all Democrats" which is why I wrote "Democratic Party agenda" or words to that effect.
Thanks for the opportunity for me to clarify.

Well, I agree. It's wrong to make absolute statements about Republicans OR Democrats but that's what the media and forum posters do.

But do you really believe that Democrats "don't care about saving lives. They only care about control. Nanny Statism is a Democratic ideal: an all-powerful Federal government which dictates what Americans, think, believe and do "for their own good". "For the children".

Can you at least agree that that statement right there is so radical and extreme that it requires proof?
Otherwise, your comment is just another radical, extreme opinion that's intent is to 'scare' people, not inform them.

Also, if he was truly concerned about suicide, he'd support Medicare for All ...

First, you have no idea what my opinions on healthcare. Either offer a quote of my views or admit you're just lying again about people with whom you disagree.

Second, if Democrats really gave a fuck about saving lives, they'd be pushing "Medicare for All" instead of wasting political ammo on banning AR-15s and high capacity magazines. <---see what I did there?

The Democratic Party fought to create laws to reign in the banks

Clinton signed that law in 1999

Bush and the republicans buried the rules on that LAW to allow the banks to fuck us

Blame the ones who deserve the blame

but pressure to eschew due diligence on giving loans was democratic.

Dude, you confessed you want to ban many of my guns. You want to turn me from being a legal, honest citizen into a criminal with Biden's signature.

I dont fucking know what guns you have fool

Like I said we can grandfather the already owned ones in

Use them responsibly and no one will take it

No more buying them

When you grow up and are done with toys the only way is to sell it to the USA

Not much of a scarafice so fewer children are murdered at their school desk huh

Fantastic. Too bad it wasn't good enough. Sad.

Chill

Take a deep breath

Reflect on your mistakes for a second

Fess to your mess

This nation will NEVER ban all guns

Your toys are destroying this nation

They serve no real purpose

They need to go

Oh and the people you quoted LIED about the laws duly passed and signed by Clinton and were illegally frozen for eight fucking years by the evil Republican Party because they don’t like the people getting what they voted for

Why would you join that lie?

Save your integrity

You know how all the Democrats on JPP keep saying "Look at Europe" for gun laws? I did. What I saw was things done in steps.

Step 1. Ban "dangerous unnecessary" guns. Pass "common sense" gun laws that restrict rights.

Step 2. Tighten gun laws. No need for magazines over 5 rounds or semi-automatic weapons. Single-shot is "good enough", all that's "necessary".

Step 3. Ban all guns except for those rich enough to own them.

Well, you're "near quoting" Nifty Niblick for one thing.

But Oom, I'm well to the LEFT of Medicare for All.
I'm for National Health Service.
Why fuck around?

By that time Bush (who cheated people out of their rights to vote in 2000) and the republicans were in charge

They cheated their way in to prevent the people from having the representation they desired

Then the put a fully Legally passed and signed bill on ice to lick the banks fucking asses

And you still want to claim it was the Dems fault

This is what happens when you side with republicans lies dude

WHAT WASNT GOOD ENOUGH???????

How well does a law work if evil fucks keep that law from ever being fully implemented??
Calm down. No need for hysterics. The bank laws in 1999. Not good enough since the system crashed.

Worse, it seemed to take most people by surprise. I knew it was a rickety system, but I had no idea how rickety and how disastrous it would be once it collapsed.

Again, both Bush and Obama embraced the "too big to fail" ideology of using the Federal government to prop up behemoth corporations should they fail.

Ideally, we should benefit from the best the Democrat and the Republican ideologies have to offer. Instead We, the People, are only seeing the worst from both. Hence, why the Banks fucking failed despite legislative card games and theatrics.

Results count.

Let’s try facts again

Look at the first quote in my signature

It’s from Cox himself

He is admitting to NOT IMPLIMENTING THE RULES IN THE GRAMM, LEACH BLIELY ACT OF 1999

FOR EIGHT FUCKING YEARS........BUSHS WHOLE TERM

HOW CAN A LAW WORK IF ITS NEVER IMPLIMENTED?

Your car won’t run better if you put the part on your work bench and NEVER INSTALL IN IN THE CAR HUH

Actually, the banks did not fail. Not the commercial banks, anyway. It was the investment banks that failed. The issue was the some of those investment banks were owned by commercial banks. If that wasn't the case, they could have all gone under and we would have been just fine. This was a crisis of confidence in the banking system, and the impact of a failure of an investment bank that was owned by a commercial bank. I don't know exactly what could have been done other than to save the banks. We were days away from a run that would have destroyed the entire financial system. Why? Graham Leach Bliley. Yes, it was passed with bipartisan support, but it was a Republican bill, and it repealed Glass Steagal. Both sides share blame for that, but let's not pretend that this wasn't pushed by the GOP side of the aisle.

banks orchestrated this whole mess in truth.

if we were really capitalists, those banks should have been allowed to fail, and we would have learned an important lesson about trusting banks.

but we're fascist, so they got bailed out.

changing this fascist mindset is the rightful mission for our time here on earth.

988 Approved as National Suicide Prevention Hotline Number

FCC requiring all phone carriers to implement the number by July 2022

En español | In response to a growing suicide epidemic across the U.S., the federal government has approved a new national three-digit number like 911 that will connect callers with lifesaving resources in times of mental crisis.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is requiring all phone service providers to direct all 988 calls to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline crisis center by July 16, 2022. The current number is a traditional length, 800-273-8255 (TALK).

The two-year transition period will allow widespread network changes and give the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline time to prepare for an expected increase in calls, the FCC says.

In 2018 the national network, made up of 163 locations, answered 2.2 million calls and responded to more than 100,000 online chats.

“When it comes to saving lives, time is of the essence, and we believe that 988 can be activated more quickly than other possible three-digit codes,” FCC Chairman Ajit Pai said. “In addition, 988 has an echo of the 911 number we all know as an emergency number.”

Do you know how out-of-place an on-topic comment is at this point in this thread?

Awesome. Dude, you're smart enough to see that's treating the symptoms again, not the causes.

It's as silly IMO as the fucking Trumpers who want to build a 2000 mile wall to stop illegal immigration: treating the symptom, not the cause(s).

What happens when a suicidal person knows they can't use the Bridge? Go home and use their Robin Williams necktie? Their Anthony Bourdain belt in the closet? Just drive off a convenient overpass or head on into a semi

Isn't it time we started working smarter, not harder?

I believe in treating both the symptoms and causes of such things.
