Why not just use bear spray to protect against bears?

I am against gun ownership in the US, period.

That includes law enforcement.

I don't think any cop should carry a gun because cops have proven they cannot responsibly wield them.

And we've had the Patriot Act for 20 years and not once have you ever used your gun to protect us from it.

Yes they do because fewer people are buying guns.

More guns may be sold, but the number of people buying them has dropped.

Gun ownership levels are among the lowest this nation has seen.

So increase gun sales don't necessarily translate to increased gun owners...what it really means is that fewer people are buying guns, but those that do are buying more guns.

bear spray works great but, just like birth control, is not 100% effective. backup weaponry is required.

So how come you didn't do anything about it with your guns?
