The felons from Jan 6 should never legally carry a gun again.

the only part of the Marine Corps I've ever shit upon was the officer corps.........they suck.

Ergo, you shit on the Marine Corps and the Commandant. You are not the person you claim to be. You are not a Marine. You are not abiding by your oath.

Okay I've removed a couple of them from my ignore list. I'll give them another chance.

FREEEEEEEEE-DOOOOOOOMMMMMMM.** :)

Am I wrong to never put anyone on ignore but just ignore them like they don't exist?

**Just because I like Mel Gibson and Tom Cruise movies doesn't mean I'd like to spend even a minute in their presence. ;)

No you're not wrong. But that isn't it. It's just that they clutter up pages after pages of bullshit so much that it makes it difficult to go through and read.

two dozen officers does not make the Corps...........but it does encompass my experience with them
Hence the flaw in your logic.

You only thought of yourself and your experiences before deciding to plot murdering your fellow Americans. Why would you think differently about the United States Marine Corps as a whole?

Most Americans, and all Marines, know that we work together to solve our problems. We don't start shooting up HQMC just because our personal experiences with 12 people, half of whom were under 30, weren't to our liking.

Only a nutjob resorts to mass murder to achieve their goals.

IIRC, in some states the felons and their spouses would get in trouble if there's a gun in their homes. That doesn't even make any sense.

I don't know the laws of most states. Texas allows for the right of self-defense in the home.

All Americans deserve to have their rights restored after they've served any penalties for social misconduct.

perhaps nobody taught you 'be courteous to all you meet, but have a plan to kill everyone'. you're not giving me alot to believe you were actually a Marine

A scenario: A wife is not home and the husband who is a felon and they have children at home. Someone breaks in. The husband uses his wife's gun to defend their children. Will he be charged and sent to prison? After all it's the law.

Recently the Marshmallow Test popped up in another conversation. Googling it revealed the 1972 Stanford marshmallow experiment. This fascinated me because I'd never heard of it. There's a lot of experiments out there but this one was a major study. It's been replicated, but with faults.

Getting back to ignoring idiots, IMHO, like the marshmallow experiment, it's a test of self-control. It takes a strong will to take insults, stupid remarks, petty comments and just ignore them in a desire to find something better to talk about.

Take-home Messages
  • The marshmallow test is an experimental design that measures a child’s ability to delay gratification. The child is given the option of waiting a bit to get their favourite treat, or if not waiting for it, receiving a less-desired treat. The minutes or seconds a child waits measures their ability to delay gratification.
  • The original marshmallow test showed that preschoolers’ delay times were significantly affected by the experimental conditions, like the physical presence/absence of expected treats.
  • The original test sample was not representative of preschooler population, thereby limiting the study’s predictive ability. (Preschool participants were all recruited from Stanford University’s Bing Nursery School, which was then largely patronized by children of Stanford faculty and alumni.)
  • A 2018 study on a large, representative sample of preschoolers sought to replicate the statistically significant correlations between early-age delay times and later-age life outcomes, like SAT scores, which had been previously found using data from the original marshmallow test. The replication study found only weak statistically significant correlations, which disappeared after controlling for socio-economic factors.
  • However, the 2018 study did find statistically significant differences between early-age delay times and later-age life outcomes between children from high-SES families and children from low-SES families, implying that socio-economic factors play a more significant role than early-age self-control in important life outcomes.

Hopefully a father protecting his children never becomes a crime.

that would normally depend on the state, the prosecutor, and the level of sheepishness of potential juries

The fact you just ignored everything I wrote is a message all unto itself.

Sure, be ready to defend yourself and others even if it means killing everyone across the table.

The difference between you and me is that you want to kill Americans with whom you disagree and I do not.

Exactly, the right to bear arms is designed to protect a well regulated militia.
WRONG. The right of the people to bear arms has NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY MILITIA.
Do you understand what a militia was back then?>
The militia is an army, organized by a government. It was and is the same today.
The National Guard is the federal militia, organized by the federal government.
The State militias are organized by each State as the need to defend itself arises.

assumptions...........wrong again

The right of self defense is inherent. No government can take that away.
