Funny, but I don't remember learning about how the colonial legislatures enacted the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, and the Townshend Duties on glass, tea, indigo, etc. after the Parliament repealed them.

They were NEVER going to pay Britain the taxes! Hell, the Brits couldn't even get the colonists to stop smuggling, and colonial juries refused to convict anyone of smuggling when charged, which led to the Admiralty Courts issue!

It does not matter what the colonial legislature did or did not do, the Boston Tea Party was about Taxation without representation. Now we have elected representatives who have decided upon a budget and while elected.... the people are whining about what they are being required to pay...

If they aren't about taxes, then they shouldn't be called tea parties! Does that mean oif there was no vandalism involved, we cannot call them tea parties? What a bunch of mindless buffoons.

Makes we wonder (and smile in anticipation) about how they'll react to the next batch of protests.
 
How could anyone associate with these TEA parties and not be embarrassed is beyond my level of understanding.

Well apparently this ib1yysguy fellow/lady thinks they were against free speech, so I guess at the end of the day one must give him/her credit for being completely 180 degrees wrong, after all that's pretty hard to accomplish when it comes to the consensus opinions of the founding fathers. :D

... that being said... somebody belt the unfortunate soul over the head with a copy of the constitution (put a star on the 1st amendment to boot) before he/she makes a spectacle of his/her self in public with such rubbish.

Anyone who will suggest that taxes are not necessary to support the functioning of our government is not a serous person.

You guys are primarily responsible for making the conditions under which Obama was forced to spend MASSIVE amounts of money in order to prevent a total collapse of the national economy. Ergo, you haven't a leg to stand on.
