The Boston Tea Party was about taxation without representation... not about whining about paying ones share.
I find it embarrasing to see Americans using the memory of these great men as an excuse to whine about paying there part.
Funny, but I don't remember learning about how the colonial legislatures enacted the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, and the Townshend Duties on glass, tea, indigo, etc. after the Parliament repealed them.
They were NEVER going to pay Britain the taxes! Hell, the Brits couldn't even get the colonists to stop smuggling, and colonial juries refused to convict anyone of smuggling when charged, which led to the Admiralty Courts issue!
