I just wrote the largest single check Ive ever written, and was welled up with pride as I did it, to be able to contribute to this great nation, and pay my part!


I am proud to be an American and personally belive I am getting my money's worth!
 
You and Biden. True patriots because you are proud to pay taxes to the machine.

Too bad the rest of his cabinet doesn't feel the same.
 
Well, I am mailing the largest contribution I ever had to mail and I'm pretty disgusted. I may go to a Tea Party tonight. :(

and did you feel this pride writing a check to the federal government during any of the years of 2003-2007?
 
I paid my taxes and while I cannot say I am proud of it, I will say that I am not a whiney crybaby over it.

Yea...I wrote a big check today too and I guess I should be greatfull that did well enough this year to pay taxes but to be honest. I wrote my check kicken and screamen all the way. Good thing I did too cause I almost missed a deduction which would have made m big check even bigger if I hadn't of caught it.

So what you are saying is that you had great success under Bush's leadership?

Ya know, that is a difference between the Dems and Repubs. There's quite a few gay members of the Democratic party. Where as there all (expletive deleted) suckers in the republlican party.

I did better under Clinton. A year after Bush was elected my income was cut in half, it took me 5 years to get back to near what I made in 1999 though I'm still a bit short of that. Oddly enough one of W's outgoing shots was to liberalize the rules on recycling waste, particularly hazardous waste, and that could pay big dividends for myself down the road.
 
My income changes little year by year. My tax rate does. It was bad under Bush, Clinton and Bush, IMO. Out of curiosity, what would be a fair tax rate? What percentage of your (question for anyone) income do you think should go to taxes? 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%.....?

Liberals donate less to charity compared to Conservatives, despite the fact that Liberals' income (on average) is higher. This is a proven fact. So, it makes sense that Liberals feeeel good when they pay higher taxes. It makes them feel like they're doing something good for others, when in reality they are not.
