Federal agency warns of radicals on right

The Department of Homeland Security is warning law enforcement officials about a rise in "rightwing extremist activity," saying the economic recession, the election of America's first black president and the return of a few disgruntled war veterans could swell the ranks of white-power militias.

A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines "rightwing extremism in the United States" as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.

"It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration," the warning says.

The White House has distanced itself from the analysis. When asked for comment on its contents, White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said, "The President is focused not on politics but rather taking the steps necessary to protect all Americans from the threat of violence and terrorism regardless of its origins. He also believes those who serve represent the best of this country, and he will continue to ensure that our veterans receive the respect and benefits they have earned."

The nine-page document was sent to police and sheriff's departments across the United States on April 7 under the headline, "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment."

It says the federal government "will be working with its state and local partners over the next several months" to gather information on "rightwing extremist activity in the United States."

The joint federal-state activities will have "a particular emphasis" on the causes of "rightwing extremist radicalization."

Homeland Security spokeswoman Sara Kuban said the report is one in an ongoing series of assessments by the department to "facilitate a greater understanding of the phenomenon of violent radicalization in the U.S."

The report, which was first disclosed to the public by nationally syndicated radio host Roger Hedgecock, makes clear that the Homeland Security Department does not have "specific information that domestic rightwing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence."It warns that fringe organizations are gaining recruits, but it provides no numbers.

The report says extremist groups have used President Obama as a recruiting tool.

Since you are going to make 2 posts on the same fucking subject, I'll post the same thing in both.

So you dumb fucks would rather Obama keep his head in the sand until Timothy McVeigh II comes along and blows some shit up. You'd rather people died so you can blame him for not doing anything. Instead when they rightfully keep a watchful eye you cry like faggots. He should watch these people just like he should watch left wing eco and animal terrorists like PETA and Earth First.

The right wing radio listening droolers have already been whipped up into such a frenzy that one of them killed 3 cops cuz "Obama gonna take my gunz"

Oh wow, gee wiz, a foul mouthed idiot as opposed to a polite one. The fact that states rights supporters are targeted as "radical groups" to be targeted for close attention is nothing more than a strawman in order for government agencies to look into the business of self identified conservatives and libertarians.

If left wing zealots were not so weak as to attacK Malkin as if that is debating the message; but would have instead given a serious look at what she was saying, a second post, written by a different source, would not have been neccesary. I thought I made that clear, but then I forgot I was not speaking to adults.

Fact is that among these regular protesters, there are alot of loons that are seriously disturbed. They should be watched. Not have their rights infringed upon but they should be watched. Anything less would be stupid.

You cum sucking felchers would blame him if he let Mcveigh II happen but you will hinder him when he tries to stop it.

Why did you start another "huge" post? Can it be that you can't answer the questions asked in the first one? Where is the word Conservative used? What is the link to Obama? It seems possible given the time frame that the report began under bush. Even the Washington Times seems to play down the Malkin selective "gotcha" hysterics. Maybe you can address the last sentence of the Times piece. Was the report begun by the Ridge or Chertoff DHS?

Just post a link to the fucking report instead of Malkin or the Moonie Times.
Like this:

http://www.fas.org/irp/eprint/rightwing.pdf

Then we can all take a look to see if the bullshit from Malkin and the rest is legitimate or more victim complex nonsense from the usual suspects.

Or post them both.

I posted the link to Malikin's op-ed where the link to the pdf was hyperlinked. Are you all that dense, lazy or both??? I happened to have liked Malkin's opinion and I am entitled to post it. I also thought that since knee-jerk "attack the messenger" idgits made her the debate, I'd post another article.

I guess it's too difficult to really address the issue which is; supporters of our republic, as opposed to those who want a socialstic government, are being targeted as "radicals".

Perhaps if posters were able to debate the message instead of attacking the messenger? Did you miss that part?

Why don't you answer your own "stupid" questions for a change? Or, try asking a good one.

Trabslation= You have no valid answers to defend your "huge" post.

for all of the bitching you libs did during bush's reign or terror, you'd think you dumbfucks would be happy that people are finally ready to enforce states rights. just goes to show that you are really just partisan hacks who care nothing more than to see conservatives upset, no matter what the dems do.

I need you to explain why keeping an oath to support and defend the constitution is 'loony'.

I absolutely agree with the DHS report. Right-wing lunatics should be watched very closely, and any subverse activity they're caught doing should get them sent to Gitmo as an enemy-combatant.

This is long overdue and the American people would be wise to stop pussy-footing with these imbecilic clowns.

If a battle is what they're after, I say bring it on.

Wow. you really are an enemy of freedom. Drive or be driven? Right, Mr. Bigshot?

The timing on this report is suspicious. Then we have the radical Rosa Brooks who was appointed by Obama to a mid-level job in the Defense Department as advisor. What the hell is going on?

For the dull-witted who can't get past the name Malkin.

First off, Gitmo is going to be closed, isn't it? ;)

Secondly, I assume that when you (and others) say, "watched very closely" that means within the confines of the law, right? I mean you're not talking about illegal wire-tapping or nothing like that are you?

And finally, though it wasn't addressed to a country, did you know that that last statement sounded like George W. Bush? :)

Now to the serious part, I agree with you guys who say they should be watched closely. Like Blackflag (hey BF, haven't seen you in a while) says, we don't want another Timothy McVeigh on our hands, do we?

retribution from a slighted liberal political group. They plan to incite an all out war to attempt to exterminate their political enemies. kinda like stalin.

I think they will close the prison facilities at Gitmo. But the naval base has been there for a long time.
