The media is there. Our nation has come a long ways since having a Town Crier. Now each of us can be a global crier on the Internet. The information overload has shocked too many people into being confused, disoriented and not knowing who to believe.

The LW frequently discusses education. The RW, on the other hand, has trouble seeing value in it and encourages their base to dismiss it as "elitism." We need to change the messaging from equating "higher education" with college, and include the trades and skills every society needs. We need to provide two years of post-high school education culminating in a certification that includes the ability to do the job trained for, and we need to do it either for free or very low cost. The Reichwing will predictably scream about the price tag. Too bad. This is an investment in our country, an investment in our people, an investment in our shared future.

I imagine a lot of people in Congress, including all the Republican representatives, never expected Trump conservatives to smear shit on walls, drag police officers down stairs and beat them, and otherwise act like a pack of rabid animals.

They had no reason to expect any of that because it’s out of character for Trump supporters. Trump held who even knows how many rallies and they came off nothing like BLM protests. Recall that DC was boarded up—but the boards came off after Biden was declared the winner. What’s that tell you?

Where was your outage over cops getting beat up, spit on and even killed—all summer? I seemed to have missed it.

But you’re right—they never expected Trump supporters to do that. In fact, that is their only available excuse for not being adequately prepared.

That's not quite true. Both sides understand higher education is essential to success. There's ideological differences, mostly in the past, regarding anti-science influences by wackadoodles, but Trump has killed off the religious aspect to a large extent.

What really gets the Right excited is anytime a spendthrift Democrat says "Free...." something. In this case, "free college".

We need better education, but "free" doesn't work in the long run.
