Worst of Times

Biden will be the President next week. But the US is in a world of shit.

It will be a long time before we have normal again.

I agree I think what this pandemic has done has accelerated the information economy or the new economy. automation and robots are going to be put in place faster and quicker and the problems we have with the uneducated dumbass are going to get deeper and broader.

People think AI is science fiction but it has been with us a while.

Pretty much. Biden will likely tank the economy, slow any recovery, botch the whole pandemic thing far worse than anything already done, and cause more misery and division than we've seen in the last 12 years.

Of course, the hands down leader in uneducated dumbass broads is the one in you use as your avatar...

Far-right groups make plans for protests and assaults before and after Inauguration D

At the center of the amorphous but increasingly motivated extremist movement sits the current president, now twice impeached, deprived of his social media megaphones but still exerting a powerful influence over his followers who take his baseless claims of election fraud as an article of faith.

“It has begun to shift from ‘We are going to win this’ to ‘This fight is going to be a long one,’ ” said Rita Katz, executive director of the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors extremist groups and their use of social media to inspire and organize adherents. “The prevalent consensus across the movements involved in or supporting the Capitol siege is that they will keep pushing forward.”

I might start sending your death threats to the FBI.

That's nice, honey. A farce election dictates harsh responses.
When millions of Americans are disenfranchised, you can expect a certain level of pissed off. It is what it is.
Exactly what good does the FBI do these days?
Defend movie copyright holders? Was that their mission?

I find it interesting that the SITE Intelligence Group, the source cited here has a section called "Far-Right / Far-Left Threat." In it are page after page of articles, 251 pages of them. Now, I can't access the articles because I don't subscribe to the site, but the titles are available. I scrolled through the first 15 pages of articles listed looking at the titles. There was not one article about any far-Left group on these whatsoever. Rita Katz has no particular background in terrorism, extremist groups, or anything else.

It would appear from SITE's own material that they are another SPLC when it comes to domestic terrorism and hate groups in the US. That is, they ignore the Left except for a minimum of lip service while vilifying the Right.

FBI Director said right wing/anarchists are biggest domestic threat. Obviously they were correct.
