UK must reduce population to 30 million to survive

JONATHON PORRITT, one of Gordon Brown’s leading green advisers, is to warn that Britain must drastically reduce its population if it is to build a sustainable society.

Porritt’s call will come at this week’s annual conference of the Optimum Population Trust (OPT), of which he is patron.

The trust will release research suggesting UK population must be cut to 30m if the country wants to feed itself sustainably.

I remember Jonathan Porrit from when he used to appear on kids TV in the 1980's telling us about recycling and all that bidness.

I wouldn't take it too seriously. Gordon Brown doesn't listen to any of his advisers unless they were former bankers and given the fact that the Green movement can't even get a tiny little wind farm built without a public outcry, population reduction is a little ambitious.

They are a very small minority but there was an article written up awhile back in San Francisco that some very environmentally conscious men in their 20's were getting their tubes tied so as to not contribute to the overpopulating of the planet. Now of course not all women want children but a man with his tubes tied at that young of an age seems to risk limiting his potential mate pool. However within the movement maybe it makes them more attractive.
 
I really hope you idiots try to start some sort of revolution. I can't wait for my chance to shoot a few of you boneheads.
