Right wing fuck you and your faith based

The believers in the Easter Bunny never tried to make laws to force their beliefs on the general public.

Different groups attempt to get legislation passed that is representative of their beliefs all the time, the religious are not anomalous in this regard.

And if the laws do not serve the public, they should be fought against.

Blue Laws serve no legitimate purpose.

We have a representative government. It represents the will of the people in accordance to our constitution. The only laws that would be unjust are laws that oppsoe our constitutional rights.

When Sabbath obsevance was a national ideal it guarenteed Sunday's off and time with family even for those who did not have a religious conviction, so it was not like it was an evil law. I would agree however that it was a law that spoke directly to a religious dogma and it imposed a restrictive standard that interferes with liberty.

The argument against Roe is likewise not evil, but a conviction that the unborn are individuals that have a right to protection from harm. You can disagree, but I have a right to pursue changing a law that I am convinced kills individuals who deserve to be protected from harm. This conviction is rooted both in my religious ideaology and in my conscience that the unborn are individuals worthy of protection. As an American citizen I am entitled to vote my conscience and to vote for persons whom I beleive would represent my convictions too.

Every law is the consequential forcing of someone's belief on the general public. You can not cite one single example of a law, which is not. Laws regarding "legal age" for marriage, buying alcohol, voting, accountability, etc. ...all based on someone's belief. Laws regarding homicide, manslaughter, rape, etc... all based on someone's beliefs. Laws regarding taxation, licensing, regulation, fraud, theft, etc... all based on someone's belief! We live in a "democratic" society, whereby the majority of the people get to decide what is or isn't the law. It is always based on our collective beliefs, whether it conforms to your personal belief is not at issue.

Blue Laws serve no legitimate purpose.

This is your opinion, and you are entitled to it in a democratic society. However, many people believe it does serve a legitimate purpose, to respect the day of Sabbath. Respecting the day of Sabbath is a fundamental part of religious exercise, and to deny a person the right to fundamentally exercise their religious belief is unconstitutional.

Dixie. Statements like this are where you discredit yourself. You are free to not buy beer on sundays without legislation forcing everyone else to not buy beer on sunday.

Well you can think what you want to asshole, but you and about 5% of the population are pissing in the wind. The other 95% of us, believe in something greater than self, and will not allow you to rule our society with your Atheistic faith. If we need to break out the torches and pitchforks, that can be arranged.

I'm not a hypocrite... some places do elect such people... ever been to San Francisco?

So you want theocracy then, but are willing to do it through the polls? That doesn;t make you a great american. You should want the religious freedoms guaranteed in the constitution, to be a great american.

LOL... No, I don't want theocracy, and as long as we have a Constitution, we can't have a theocracy. You are grossly misguided.

I am willing to allow democracy to prevail. A democratic society deciding not to allow beer sales on Sunday, is not an establishment of religion. It is respecting the free exercise of religion. But more importantly, it is democracy.

You have fallen victim to the Atheist trap, whereby all things Christian must be rebuked and discarded. That's the fundamental root problem with our society today. You see, Christianity teaches the very principles and constructs for a moral and civilized society. When you throw that away, what have you really thrown away? It's not rocket science!

Remember this... if you don't remember anything else I say... Christianity is a religion of acceptance. You MUST accept and believe, that Jesus Christ died on the cross so that you could be forgiven for your sins. IF you don't accept that, IF you don't believe that, you can NOT EVER be a Christian! No matter how badly the Christians want you to be one, you simply CAN'T BE ONE!

Christianity CAN'T be forced on you! It's IMPOSSIBLE! That being said, there is nothing to fear from Christian-based beliefs, the teachings of Christianity, or even laws respecting Christian faith. In fact, it is that very thing that our country is missing, and the root cause for many of the problems we have now. Too many people have done as you, and fallen into the Atheist trap, believing that if we allow anything "Christian" anywhere in our public realm, we have somehow breached some proverbial "wall of separation" and nothing could be more ridiculous.

If everyone voted to eliminate voting, would that still be a democracy?
