All US govt and business hacked. Experts all say Russia. Trump won't criticize.

I see. So they went in through an outside contractor hired to do work for the government.

Maybe if the government just did all this computing themselves and wrote their own SW, this would never have happened.

This could serve as a possible reason to expand the government so they control all of their computing and SW from the ground up.

That would create a lot more good government jobs.
 
I'm sure that the incompetent lackeys that Trump appointed to the positions of national security are a significant cause of this breach.

I tend to agree. It's an object lesson on the perils of privatizing essential government security functions. But I'm afraid that horse left the barn
too long ago. I am no computer scientist, but I don't see how with the leviathan and intersecting of govt and private sector you could
possibly do as you suggest. Something must be done along the lines of access private into govt for sure. I doubt business would appreciate
the federal govt being the sole insurer of private info security though. If large private businesses get hacked because of private data breaches,
that's their tough titties. But when a private firm fucks up and opens the door to hack govt secrets, that's no bueno.

So why won't Trump criticize RUSSIA. YET. AGAIN. No good answers will be forthcoming.

Yeah, it's so obvious he's afraid to call out Putin. It's hard to reconcile how his supporters can give him a free pass on this. And it's not like it's anything new. This has been going on the whole time. Trump is totally subservient to Putin. It's an outrage. He SAYS America First but in this case he is putting Russia First.

I heard John Bolton on CNN discouraging Democrats from criticizing Trump along these lines, saying it was the same as Republicans implicating
Dems in election fraud 2020. I feel that's not exactly comparable. While there is not ironclad evidence of a direct conspiracy between Putin and Trump
or a bribe paper trail (yet), there is circumstantial evidence, ( e.g. absolute knowledge that Russia interfered, taking meetings with Russian spies for Hillary dirt,
and a massive report by Mueller) and positively no above board explanation for Trump's behavior, on the one hand, where there is absolutely nothing to support
Trump's claimed suspicions.

My theory is "vindictiveness" Our legitimate complaints always seem to return in the reverse from them, but simply mouthed and without any substance.
Sort of like a little kid. "I know you are but what am I"

I call him a "compromised asset." The consideration, carrots or sticks don't really matter. It could be Trump
simply wants to do big business there later, or he owes them money, or an outright bribe of some sort. Irrespective of the cause,
there is no "America first" explanation for his behavior.
