Science Theologians

It seems we have several subscribers to the faith here. I call it a faith, because that is what it seems to be for them. At the head of the cult is Mottleydude, followed by ib1yysguy, Watermark, Solitary, and others. There may also be some "closet" members of the cult, I am not completely sure. In any event, they have a nice little organizational structure of support here, often jumping in any debate where the faith of science can be used to force their beliefs down our throats.

Some examples are, debates regarding Intelligent Design, where they would have us believe that science has determined ID is impossible. Of course, those of us who have a modicum of education related to science, understand that science makes no such claim. This is simply a "faith based" position held by followers of Science Theology. It spills over into the debate on Evolution, which is a legitimate scientific theory regarding how already existing life forms may have changed and adapted over time. The Science Theologists believe that science has provided proof that all living things are the product of an original single living organism, despite the fact there is no evidence whatsoever to support such nonsense, and it actually contradicts what we do know of living organisms.

Another example would be Abortion. Somehow, these religious zealots of science have concluded that a human fetus is not a human life, it is something else, even though the biological composition and physics make it a living human organism. Through their dogma of Science Theology, they have found a way to ignore the facts of reality and circumvent what is biological fact. They support their faith-based viewpoint with nice long fancy words and phrases, and a litany of "peer reviews" which are somehow 'ordained' by their deity of science in a way that renders them unquestionable. Much the same way as a Christian or Jewish believer may interpret testaments from the Scriptures, or the Catholics may view the opinions of the Pope, the Science Theologian holds reverent regard for what is published in science journals by other followers of the faith.

Far be it from us mere mortals to question the wisdom and word of the Science Theologian, they simply know more and have better educational background that we do, so it is essential we surrender any argument they may embark upon. Those of us who haven't been "born again" into the anointment of Science Theology, simply lack the understanding and knowledge of these forward thinkers. Yes, they will often lecture us about the moral dangers of educating our children with any sort of "religious" values, but that only applies to other "religions", not to the empirical all-knowing faith of Science Theology! When it comes to that, it is imperative we teach our children the dogma espoused from their religious beliefs. Even though, much of what they preach, has no foundational basis of support, and no evidence to support it, they are smart... so we should trust and have faith in the principles of science, even when what they convey is contradictory to science as we know it.

No one has ever produced a single shred of evidence that life "evolved" from a single living organism. Clearly, it would have had to happen at some point, for there to be billions of life forms currently on the planet, and assuming the planet originally existed without life forms. Regardless of the fact that this "theory" is without any basis for belief, and actually contradicts everything we know and understand about living organisms, it simply has to be accepted and understood as part of the Science Theology faith.

Dixie must be the prophet of aliens from the future come here to tell us the truth! I've never heard anyone ever spout such common sense, so much truth, in my life! He's like a fountain, a golden shower of truth and wisdom!

Leave it to Dixie to create a new oxymoron.

All hail Mottley, Messiah of the test tube, Marquess of Macrobiology and Grand Panjandrum of Polyploidy (no, haven't a clue either).

How shall we unworthy souls do thy scientific bidding this day?

Dixie, if you are going to make accusations at specific people, at least make them accurate.

When we discussed ID, I said it should not be taught in a science class in a public school. You took that and ran with it to create this "they all hate God" nonsense. Try and stay with the facts.

On the topic of abortion, please figure out which people on your list are pro-choice, which are pro-life, and which ones are somewhere in the middle. These blanket accusations where you try and make yourself sound like the victim of some vast conspiracy are entertaining, but not factual.

You can refer to my as "Your Royal Homology", thank you.

Actually the very fact that Dixie mentioned my name first is complimentary and flattering to an extreme and I am quite honored.

As the newly promoted High Preist of Science I thought it only proper that I publish the following Holy Ecumenical Hypothesis for the edification of my followers.

In the beginning there was Galileo who saw through the looking glass that we were not the center of the universe and that Yo, it was the sun. He named the sun Sol and saw that it was good. The people rejoiced with the warm glow of Sol upon their upturned face and said that it was good and it made their heart swell.

Then Gallileo begat Harvey who told the people, Be not to proud of thy heart for it is only a pump for the liqueor of life where in the truth shall lie and the people cut themselves and bled and saw that this was so.

Harvey then begat Newton who fell from Grace and in his dispare he called this fall "gravity" and saw that it moved all with its force and he was filled with awe.

Then Newton begat Dalton who did not see that all was made of atoms for they were to small.

Then Dalton begat Darwin who said "Yo, we are all brothers and sisters and cousins down through all the ages and back to the beginning, amen".

Then Darwin begat Avagodro who said "For you I have this number 1.6324 x 10 to the 23rd power and this number is universal and this number I give to you shall go forth and be fruitfull and multiply and combine and synthesize and I shall call this number Mole."

Then Avagadro begat Bohr who saw that all was governed by actions of particles to small to see and that they were random and that they were good.

And thus Bohr begat Einstein who saw that all was relative and the people rejoiced.

Then Einstein begat Pauling who said "Lo, but see how the protiens fold upon themselves and give us their functions" and the people bowed their heads in gratefullness.

And Pauling begat Crick and Watson who said "Behold, Look what we have discovered, the secret of life itself" and the world was stunned and shaken to it's core at the awesome power of their discovery and they were humbled.

Then the Lord of Science said "Let there be light" and his prophet, the Reverand Bill Gates stepped forth from the Ether and all bowed before his glory. The Holy Father Gates then bestowed a gift upon mankind and he said, "Upon you I giveth this black box and in this box you shall pray and find great wisdom."

The Holy Father Gates then came upon the lowely Mottley one. He placed his hands upon the Mottley one and lifted him upon his feet and gazed into his eyes. The Holy Father Gates then consecrated the Mottley one with deuterium and polyalkylated long branched unsaturated hydrocarbons. The Holy Father Gates then swathed the Mottley one in holy shrouds of mylar and polyphenolated caprolactam and upon his brow he placed a crown of pure Germanium Arsenide and gave him a scepter of yttrium oxide superconductor as a symbol of his rank and power.

The Mottley one was then bade to enter the Holy See of the CERN Super Collider where he is to officiate over the sacrifice of the proton and the neutron and declare prohecies from their destruction by the patterns and scatter of the quarks, leptons and fermions.

All Hail The High Preist of Science Mottleydude, let all bow and tremble at his might and glory!

In the beginning the bang created the heavens and the earth. It was a big bang, and it was good. The earth was hurled outward, and was without life in the void.

Darkness was over half of the earth, and the sun let there be light on the other half. The light was not called day and the dark was not called night because there was no one to call it anything.

There was much water and atmospheric storming on the earth. Tectonic plates moved upon the face of the earth. Gravity gathered the waters in one place and dry land appeared.

Single celled creatures appeared in the waters. Because of their genetic code, they were fruitful and multiplied. Although some divided in order to multiply.

The waters became full of creatures great and small. Some creatures evolved to trespass on the land for a short time. They saw the land was empty of animals, and that it was good.

and that there were some creatures smaller then them and that they were good.....so they ate them!
