who do the Republicans have?

Mitt Romney... So weak McCain beat him.

Sarah the tax cheat Palin?

Bobby Jindal who cant speak....

Anyone left?

One could have said the same for your party in 2000/2004.

I assure you there are many viable candidates, including Bobby Jindal.

While I'd like to cheer on Bill Owens, his support of Referendums C & D in the last election before he left office will haunt him still.

They have Jeb.

Jeb has his brother to thank that he, Jeb, hasn't got a prayer of ever winning that job.

Although, if he runs for Senator in Florida, he might have a shot at that, but I doubt he'll ever have a chance at winning the Presidency.

Immie

Sounds like Gov. Chrst is running for that Sennate Seat, he would beat Jeb like a red headed step child. I would likely vote for the Gov. if he wanted to be a senator and He would be only the second Republican I ever voted for.

the more you tighten your grip, the more people that will slip through your fingers.

there is only so much 'progressive' that a free people will take when your 'progressiveness' inhibits their freedom of choices in their lives.

You are delousional.

Your party whorshiped Bush for years, he could do no wrong.

Now they all hate him and blame him for their trip into the deep forrest.

Why will they never blame themselves for what they cheered for years.

Your party base is so full of idiots, hypocrits and liars that you will not see an election seat for years to come except in places where they are all still Rs.

Your party has to broaden its appeal ( have something REAL to say that includes none of the same idiot montras) or die.

The repubs did broaden their appeal to get enough followers to win. And they lost themselves in the process of winning...

Seriously, the Republican party has very little room for growth and the Democratic party does in spades. Democratic party is the party of the young, the Republican party is increasingly elderly. The Democratic party is the party of people with college degrees, the Republican party is not. America is increasingly diverse, the Republican party is increasingly homogenous. Seriously, it's only going to get worse for them.

...The Democratic party is the party of people with college degrees, the Republican party is not. ....

Actually, the Democrat Party is uneducated and stupid:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pew_Res...tical_typology

30% of the right has a college degree
20% of the middle
26% of the left

27% of the right has an income of over 75k
20% of the middle
21% of the left

9% of the right drops out of high school
11% of the middle
13% of the left

It is getting worse, and will continue to do so, until the the GOP adopts a paleoconservative/libertarian-esque platform focused on individual liberty, economic opportunity and non-interventionism. These values excite young people and will reinvigorate the party.

Besides you and a few others, young people believe in freedom and entrepreneurship. The blessings of liberty touch everyone...and liberty is America's destiny.

I disagree with you. McCain out and out won the Republican nomination. By your analysis no one wins their party's nomination other than by default as you can make the same observation about all the primary's since we've had them.

The real problem that the Republicans have, and the last election demonstrated this, is that the candidates which are very popular with the party are not tenable at a national level and those who do have national appeal are not widely popular with the party.

Both Guilliani and Romney have appeal across the board nationally but don't have strong appeal with in the party.

So show how badly the Republican party has become inbred USC is probably right. Jeb is probably their best candidate for 2012 or 2016.

I would really like to hear Adam's response to this. You're the most politically intelligent 2 fellahs or fellettes.

I was personally glad that McCain won the nomination, but I personally believe he could not have won if Huckabee (as well as Thompson) hadn't lost Romney votes in key states.
