As usual, they haven't thought any of this through. Republicans did pretty well in this election. Trump is just selfish and stupid enough to put their wins in down-ballot races in jeopardy because he lost.

I actually have a different theory. I think Trump helped them immensely down ballot. Politics makes strange bedfellows, and in this case, I think 'never Trump' Republicans and Trump supporters combined to give Republicans some unexpected wins. The problem they have now is that they aren't going to be able to duplicate that oddball coalition. Trump supporters checked the down ballot boxes, but they didn't really care about them. I think they will now return to their 2018 slumber, where despite coming on in large numbers for a midterm, they were drowned in a blue wave because not enough of the Trump Cult came out. I really don't know where the Republican party goes from here. Trump is still the leader of more than half of that party and if he tells his cult members not to vote they won't.

That's a reasonable theory. If true, then this Trump tantrum is still a bad idea for the party. If he invalidates Biden votes, then he invalidates down-ballot Republican votes too.

ah, you're talking about the whole ballot mess. I doubt there will be a single ballot that's invalidated from these lawsuits. They are just throwing shit against the wall. Nothing is sticking.

Now, that I definitely agree with. Everyone knew Trump was going to dispute the election if/when he lost it. He's been telling us for months. He'll flame out of the White House and then hopefully die in prison. What I had hoped to see from Trump supporters today, though, was a recognition that it's all over. Trump is done. So either beg to be reaccepted into the world of rational, thinking people or flame out with Trump. I should have known better.
