Frustrations of Being a Pompous Jew

I think you are ineffective because of your own hypocrisy. You are against AA by being for it...

You use it as an excuse for your failure, it is clear you are a weak little man scared that everybody else is getting what he cannot have.

I dislike AA, but like you realize it is here to stay.

You are like a libertarian who files for Government Grants. You rail against it, until you are for it because you think it will benefit you personally.

Not really. I'm for nullifying the intended discriminatory effect of AA through expanding the list of protected groups.

You claim to be against discrimination but thwart those who would actually eradicate it.

Bump. Let's all revisit Damo getting decimated, and having his hypocrisy revealed by force. He says he's against Affirmative Action, but actually when it gets down to it, he feels it is creating more justice as it stands now.

As opposed to the guy (Hint: AHZ) who is against Affirmative Action but begs to be included in the super-secret special lists, I can see why somebody who worships the government and believes that all things good come from it could be married to this "solution" regardless of how wrong it is. I believe it isn't going anywhere because there are many like that, but that doesn't mean I will work to increase the pain by lengthening the lists.

This is merely pragmatism. If i can't get the program abolished, I would like whites and males to be protected.

You like to say you;re against, but when it comes down to it, you feel it's justice.

As is my realization that they aren't going anywhere "pragmatism".

However pragmatic it might be to want to increase what you believe is bad in order to obtain what you believe is good, it isn't justified.

The ends do not justify the means.

And I say that I can see how others who believe government is beneficent would see it as "justice" rather than unnecessary government force.

But adding more people to the protected list means more people are protected. Protecting some and not others, as it is now, is what makes it discriminatory. Your frame is weak and idiotic.

It doesn't matter how much more you force people to act as you want through the power of government it is still wrong, even if you think it brings you "justice".

Sometimes acting rightly is the more difficult path. I will choose to follow the more difficult path and do what I believe is right, you would capitulate and maintain that the only justice that can be obtained will be through the power of government force.

Again, I'll let you spend your energy where you will it matters little in the big scheme of things.

Again, a weak and pathetic frame. You feel noble as you defend discrimination. Adding EVERYONE to the protected list eliminates discrimination.

AA is unconstitutional according to the 14th amendment. Adding everyone to the list, would make it constitutional again, redundant, yes, but constitutional.

I defend nothing. I say it is wrong, but realize that little I will do will change it.

This reminds me of one of those prayer plaques people own...

Lord grand me the strength to change the things that I can change, to endure the things that I cannot change, and the wisdom to tell the difference.

I think you spin your wheels in the wasteful and ultimately fruitless endeavor to increase what you perceive as a wrong, but cannot be changed.

Ultimately I believe that it will be changed in your favor, but probably long after you are dead and not because you fought so hard for your skin tone.

You defend AA as it is. you refuse to acknowledge that adding more genders and races to the list would decrease it's discriminatory effect.

Anything can change, at any time. nothing is impossible.

I reject the premise that government force is the appropriate tool when any other tool is available. And understand that other people believe that government force is the only tool to use even when other tools are available. Those type of people want to be included on the list and I understand that fear of being a failure will make more people wish to be on the lists.

Fear is a motivating emotion that will create people who understand that something is wrong yet want to increase what is wrong so it can also be wrong in their favor. It creates people who blame society for every ill in their lives, not just the ones for which society could be responsible. I do not believe that this is the correct approach to life or to solve inequities that can better be resolved through introspection and personal action.

I understand how people can feel that giving their own responsibility to do what is right to the government can cocoon them from introspection that allows them to take responsibility for those things they can change.

In short I believe that people should do as they believe, and I will continue to do so. I will do what I believe is right regardless of what government list may contain my tan levels.

As I said before, I'm not fighting you. If you wish you can expend all the energy you want to make the list as you want it to appear. It really matters little in the larger scheme of things. What is right will continue to be right, even if you make the list.

Blah blah blah. Im for less discrimination. When the government is making lists about who is protected, the more groups on the list means LESS people are discriminated against. I'm just working with the stupid framework we have now. I will continue to bitch about this issue, despite your haughty idiocy. Please continue to mock my efforts if you so desire, it matters not.

Bump. Wow. damo got so pwned here.

"having more groups on the list = more of something bad" LOL my ass off.
Right.

AHZ: The lists are bad.
Damo: Yup. I agree.
AHZ: I want to be on the list so bad I can taste it.
Damo: Wait. We just agreed the lists are bad. Where is your consistency?
AHZ: Damo is weird because he thinks the lists are bad!

Reality Check: AA isn't going anywhere, I propose they change it to apply by socioeconomics rather than by tans. AHZ... Just wants in, he hates standing behind the velvet rope.

But you've oversimplifying, as you're wont to do.

The lists are bad because they are exclusive. Adding more groups to them decreases their exclusivity. can you comprehend that? It's counterintuitive, for idiots, apparently.

You are thinking within a box, that lists are the only option. Simple minds can think of no other solution than "Me too!"

Reality Check: AA isn't going anywhere, I propose they change it to apply by socioeconomics rather than by tans. AHZ... Just wants in, he hates standing behind the velvet rope.

Actually you're trapped in a box. For you it's either eliminate the lists, or allow them to go in their incomplete, and therefore exclusionary, merry way.

I would prefer them to be eliminated, but in lieu of that, amending them to protect more groups is preferable to doing nothing.

You're the one who can apparently see only one solution. I'm the one who can see multiple solution to the problem of discrimination.

In lieu of having them eliminated I would change the means by which they are created and use something other than tans.

Your limitation is based on the social phenomenon of "race".

Reality check 2: There is only one race.

The lists are based on the social phenomenon of race. I will go with your one race theory when there is only one checkbox for race. As it is now, race is something very real, and some individuals are being punished because of their TAN or their gender.

Noahide sellouts like you get into trouble on these issues of logic.
