Obama's Weekly Address 2/14/09

so...you WANT the stimulus bill to fail?

party over country for you, eh?

nice to know who the enemy really is.
Seems to me, by your own words, you are the one who puts party before country. Is not the definition of a yellow dog democrat one who would vote for a yellow dog if it belonged to the democratic party?

And since when is predicting failure of a stupid plan, based on the results of a similar plan run under similar circumstances, "hoping" for failure? It is very simple: spending a trillion dollars during a major economic crisis is NOT going to bring us out of that crisis. Giving banks a bunch of money to loan to people whose credit is overstretched is NOT going to solve the problems caused by the fact that a bunch of people were loaned money who could not afford to pay it back.

But you yellowdogs, who like to stick their heads up the donkeys ass so far you use its nostrils for view ports, go ahead and pull your arrogant, fuck the U.S. as long as we're in power crap. And when you fail so utterly that you put the republicans (who are no fucking better than the democrats, except they only choose to shit on select parts of the Constitution) in for another 8-12 years, you can bitch and moan and cry like the bunch of whiney fucking babies you really are.

Why?

Good Luck, you are rather fond of making these grand "It is this way and there is no other way it could be logically" statements. But that doesn't make it true. I could easily say "It's as simple as this: stimulus IS going to bring us out of this crisis!" and make that my entire argument, but I'm intelligent enough to realize that that argument would be wholly ineffective because I provided no proof or logic to back the statement.

So I ask you.

Why?

That Americans of every political stripe are not out-raged and yes, even frightened by this audacious arrogance is beyond rational discourse and left to head shaking hands in the air disbelief.

It's absurd to pretend that not reading every word of every bill a rep votes on is tantamount to treason. The fact is, that most of it is legal fluff that would be utterly useless. I know basically what it is, and where it apportions to what, and that is what matters. We need stimulus to lift us out of this deflationary spiral.

enjoy the ride, motherfucker.... the democrats are driving the bus for two more years... you can either hope that they succeed in fixing the economy, or hope that they fail...of sit still there, in the back of the bus, and shut the fuck up.

No, no, no...you should have said...."or sit there, in the back of the bus, have a coke and a smile and shut the fuck up!" :)

you could...bu the nearest election in 2010....until then, enjoy the ride, motherfucker.

my guess is....you'd better develop a more coherent message than you put forth in 2006 and 2008 or you will be dooming yourselves to a fate similar to the Whigs.

Coherent message? What good will that do for a group so incompetent that they could fuck up a wet dream? I mean what good is a message when the messenger keeps tripping over his shoe laces?

LOL

Sorry I ain't no Rosa Parks that sits in the back with the rest of the coloreds.

Of course it will fail, history is repeating itself. You cannot spend your way out of an economic downturn.

Gayman, the Obama cheerleader of a doomed policy

The only bus you're getting on is the little yellow one where the occupants have to eat with little plastic spoons for their own protection.

Now go have a jello moment and shut the fuck up.

He really did lie about his open transparent approach to doing DC politics. You need to understand though that most of the kool-aid drinking left don't care.
I don't care if he sold you a bill of goods on a used tooth brush. If he can get up in the morning and tie his own shoes he's a vast improvement over the last occupant of the White House.

You are a typical representation of who makes up the democrat party. It is quite evident that it is your type who needs to be on the the short bus and have someone tie their shoes.

This bill is a horrendous miscarriage of our governments representation of the people. It is a grossly bloated special interest pork laden spending bill that was rushed through on what was supposed to be an emergency economic stimulus. It's a shameful and corrupt piece of legislation.

That someone like you is unable to see the forest through the trees all because of their partisan ditziness is just further cause for alarm at our nations seeming current obamessiah idiocy.

Whatever your feelings are or were about Bush, they have no bearing on the legitimacy, decency, or intelligence of this bill. Your using your disregard for Bush and his presidency as some sort of rationale for supporting this bill is stupid.

You are absolutely correct. We do need stimulus to change the course of the economy. The debate should be what is the best way to provide that stimulus but unfortunately, it is more who presented it rather than what it does. I commend the Democrats for making the attempt they have made. At least they made the attempt. I personally do not believe it is going to work. We are spending money we can't afford to spend and expecting our grandchildren to foot the bill.

I think it is too much out flow with way too little expectation of benefits. I, personally, think there are other ways to accomplish the goal and, in fact, I believe there are probably several out there that far exceed the expected benefits from this current plan. Politicians were fighting about whether or not the spending bill would work when those who believe it won't work should have been coming up with ideas that would.

Like I said, I don't have many hopes for the spending bill that was passed, but we will have to wait and see what the outcome of it is. I'm sure as we get further down the road, Republicans will be telling us what an absolute failure it was and Democrats will be praising President Obama for his foresight and leadership. The American people will have to decide in the long run how things actually turned out.

I am afraid that our grandchildren will be the ones that end up suffering the most. In the meantime, I'm praying that President Obama and his administration at least make a dent in the problem and things will turn around soon.
