Retail sales up, foreclosures down, jobless claims down

Was there ever a doubt in your mind that within minutes of Obama being sworn in that msnbc would find the economy improving ?

When Bush had 4.5% unemployment they told you how terrible the economy was...now at 7.5% unemployment, things are looking up...:pke:
The logic of morons.....
Amazing, isn't it....Long live Obama the Great

I just happened to pick MSNBC. This was Fox's main headline this morning, actually.

What kind of books are you talking about fiction, non-fiction...?

Either, both.

Damo - no, as much as I enjoy watching sci-fi, I have never gotten into reading it.

I just finished one of the best books I have ever read, "Nixonland". I finally feel like, okay, I get it now. What it was like, when it started, how we got to here. It was fascinating.

But I always mix in fiction and non-fiction. I was an English major and you never lose your love of literature once you fall.

...It's just that we have so few interesting people here, ....

Bwahahah says the least interesting poster here. The sheer irony must cause your head to explode.

Next time you want to disparage the entire board for not being interesting, you might try being something more than a feminazi troll.

LOL lorax is such a fucking dork.

I am currently reading "Lee and Grant". It's very well-written for a history book, more like a story rather than those dry crappy scholarly things we were forced to sleep through in High School.

Man, do you sound bitter.

Like I said, Fox made a big deal about it, too. Frankly, after months of one bad news day after another, I thought it would be cool to just post a brief & surprising bit of good news.

Guess that's dorky, bitter guy.

Bitter? about what? LOL you're delusional.
And after you barking recession for 8 fucking years , suddenly calling this good news is fucking hilarious. You partisans tards are amusing.

Thats a shame... I could have pointed out some that I think you would enjoy.

The Ender series by Orson Scott Card for example.

Do you enoy writers like Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, Jack Higgins, Clive Cussler?

I would guess you love the classics, just wanted to see what other types of fiction you enjoyed.

Trust me; you're bitter. Happy people don't write like this.

Your obsession w/ me is weird, too.

Nice to finally see some decent economic news (with "decent" being relative, of course):

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032072

And, of course, using the metric favored by meme and Yurt, Obama gets full credit for this. Way to go, new Pres!

Yeah "relative", this is sort of the equivalent of saying after you dropped into hell, things improved the next day once you got a nice highrise there.

Most sane people still compare it to how things have been in most of their life.

ROFL
Yeah, yeah I remember that! Remember they would try and put out any desperate number like percent of wages increased only a few cents in some month or some crazy shit like that, to try and convince us all we were in recession?

Let the good times roll.

It wasn't my intent to make this a partisan thread; my Obama comment was a goof.

It's interesting how the doomers are on the right now, though.

Personally, I was happy to see the news. I have no illusions about the economy being in dire straits, but - if only for a month - the freefall seems to have at least slowed. I take that as a potentially positive sign.

jobless recovery was one phrase I recall. unemployment was near 4.5% and they were complaining about jobs. Now we have almost 50% more unemployed people and it's good news. LOLers

Well, I'd be happy to dig up some threads from those days for you fellows. All I talked about was that the economy was being somewhat falsely propped up by an overinflated housing market, and that record debt based in large part on loans against overvalued homes was a bad warning sign.

Yeah; guess I was off on that....

Yeah, the Ender series got me up on him. The Red Prophet stuff got a bit long though.

I like good old classics like Jurassic Park too...

:D
