Collins, Snowe and Specter were there... they are the only three anyone gives a shit about.

If republicans want to earn a place back at the table, they need to convince the american public that they are not a bunch of dogmatic whiners.... and YOU are the poster child for that movement. Someone from the RNC needs to superglue your mouth to your asshole and shut your kind up or we WILL have a one party system just because YOUR party will abdicate all pretense of sanity.

Do you have proof they were there, I didn't see any names mentioned.
That's pretty sad if that's all who the Dems invited, basically inviting the 3 furthest left Repub senators - how much criticism are you gonna get?
Sort of like if the Repubs were to just invite Zell Miller and then pretend that they reached some bipartisan agreement, who are the Dems fooling?

Did you see the media moment after the compromise had been reached? Snowe spoke and clearly indicated that Collins and Specter had been a part of the process.

We are not trying to fool anyone... just trying to get a stimulus bill passed for the good of the country. We needed a few republican senators to go along, and we needed the house democrats to agree to scale down their package so that it would be palatable to those senate republicans. That is exactly what we got. Don't like it? do a better job at fielding a credible slate of candidates next time and maybe you won't get your ass kicked like you have the last two elections.

we didn't need any house republicans and they made it clear, even before the president came to the hill to speak with them, that they had no intention of supporting any bill.

They argue about gay marriage and talk radio. But BOTH parties pass legislation full of pork and earmarks. Both parties ignore the desperate need for tax reform. Both parties caused this economic nightmare. Both parties ignored the problems at Freddie & Fannie Mae. Both parties are lying to us at ever turn.


Neither party is really interested in helping anything. Their job is to get reelected.

And as long as they have the population picking sides and arguing amoungst ourselves they will continue to do what they are doing.

The Dems are happy because "their" team won. But nothing is really different.

When the repubs won, they were happy because it was their team.

Both were supporting their team, regardless of whether they did any good or not.
