Word of God is not the same as God. Its what he had to tell us.
And camels are scared.......!
Okay, that was funny.ROFLMAO.
Speaking of camels:
A Captain in the foreign legion was transferred to a desert outpost. On his orientation tour he noticed a very old, seedy looking camel tied out back of the enlisted men's barracks. He asked the Sergeant leading the tour, "What's the camel for?"
The Sergeant replied, "Well sir it's a long way from anywhere, and the men have natural sexual urges, so when they do, uh, we have the camel."
The captain said, "Well if it's good for morale, then I guess it's all right with me."
After he had been at the fort for about 6 months the captain could not stand it any more so he told his Sergeant, "BRING IN THE CAMEL!!!"
The sarge shrugged his shoulders and led the camel into the captain's quarters. The captain got a footstool and proceeded to have vigorous sex with the camel. As he stepped, satisfied, down from the stool, and was buttoning his pants he asked the Sergeant, "Is that how the enlisted men do it?"
The Sergeant replied, "Well sir, they usually just use it to ride to town and pick up women..."
ROFLMAO.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All of which places mortal opinion level with the word of God. This is not unlike mohammadans putting his scripture level with or above islamic scripture (also happens to include the Bible).
Youre really just making my case.
Now you are disparraging Islam. Islam mandates that all must be assimilated, by the sword if necessary (in a "mostly peaceful" way of course).... and tyranny of the minority is not sound theological doctrine.
How do you know what is God's word and what is man's word?
Pope Francis endorses same sex unions!
Will this cause another schism?
This Pope is amazing!
That's why they made up that whole Holy Spirit thing. When someone asks you how to prove that a particular bit of scripture is the true word of god, you can tell them that you "just know" because the Holy Spirit is telling you so.
As a kid I never grokked that trinity thing, and I still do not.
Sodom and Gomorrah tells us a lot about Gods view of homosexuals. The pope must not have read the Bible or doesnt believe the words of the Bible. OR...... is out to deceive people. My guess is number three.
The concept of the Trinity took a few hundred years to formalize. IMO, the books of the Bible were selected from hundreds to push a specific premise and ideology. Early Christians believed all sorts of things after the Crucifixion. Jesus was seen as a great rabbi by all budding Christians but not as being divine by all. There were fights among the Christians even as they were fighting both the Romans and conservative Jews. In short, all of the Jesus-is-divine crowd killed off those Christians who didn't believe Jesus was divine.
The main story of Jesus was to bring everyone closer to God, but the Jesus Fan Club often acts like those Christians of old killing off anyone who doesn't accept their specific beliefs.

The trinity was an attempt to pretend Christianity in monotheistic. It failed .
Christians overall are usually more tolerant of others than Muslims are at least.
Granted, Muslims tend to be firmer in keeping their societies from becoming depraved.
Bullshit. You're speaking from ignorance. You're doing the equivalent of looking at the Westboro Baptists assholes and claiming they represent mainline Christianity.

Uh no. I'm looking at how most Muslim-majority countries are run. Maybe you thought I was talking about American Muslims, but I was referring to Muslims globally.
Look into the lack of minority rights in many Muslim-majority countries.
The legends about the virgin birth, the amazing star, the raising of a dead man, and the resurrection are all borrowed from both prior religious beliefs among the "heathens" of that region, and pagan religions like Mithraism that were contemporary to Jesus's time. Judaism wasn't the only faith practiced in that area of the world where "east meets west." One interesting thing about the Mithra religion is that eventually the Xtians, who saw it as a rival to their own budding cult, managed to eventually suppress and stamp it out.
ETA: I see that Sister Stench gave you a groan for your factual description of how the trinity came to be. Some of us do not care for truth. lol
