Wolverine Watchmen militia plot kidnapping and goverment overthrow in Michigan

I see that Sen. Peters is ahead of the (R) candidate who the RNC has been pouring out money to for TV and mail ads. Our (R) representative appears worried too; he's running numerous negative ads against Biden, weirdly enough. People are fired up even up here in mind-your-own-beeswax-land. In 2016 we saw but maybe a handful of vote for ___ signs. They are everywhere this time, for both presidential candidates. And the Sec. of State is reporting record mail-in ballot requests along with record new voter registrations.

We dropped off our ballots last week and they have been verified and logged in. Go blue!

On a side note, I distrust those who focus on negative campaign adds. They are weak and seek to exploit the weakness of others.

Early voting begins next week and I'll go vote then.

And frankly, people have enough negativity with the pandemic, social justice protests, wildfires, hurricanes, etc. etc. Biden's ads have been wonderfully-done. They are positive, send a message of unity and "we're going to get through this together." That's what people want to hear right now. They don't want to see Jack Bergman's grainy black-and-white videos of riots and violence -- from the 1960s and consisting of all white rioters. (Guess his ad agency was being careful not to paint rioters as black, lol). The (R) senate candidate, John James, runs similarly-grim negative ads as well. In fact, we have yet to see a single ad touting his credentials (other than blew shit up in the military and looks super hot in tactical gear lol), his positions on various issues, principles, ideas, or any other reason to vote for him other than not-(D).

Negativity and fear-mongering is all Trump has. Biden is smart to work towards a positive campaign.

OTOH, there's still this problem:

It appears the Wolverine Watchmen were the wackiest of the wacky:

https://wwmt.com/news/local/what-we-know-about-the-wolverine-watchmen-10-09-2020
Not much is known about the Wolverine Watchmen, who don’t appear to have a group-specific online presence, but according to a report from the Washington Post, a Facebook page for the group was removed this summer as part of a crackdown on groups and pages promoting political violence.

According to federal court documents, a Michigan police department notified the FBI of the group’s activities in March 2020 after members of the militia allegedly attempted to find the home addresses of local law enforcement officers.

An affidavit from Michigan State Police allege the group was then planning on targeting officers in their homes.

Federal court filings show a member of the militia told the FBI he was concerned about the group’s plans to target and kill police, saying he then started working as an informant for the investigation and helped foil the plans to kidnap Whitmer and overthrow the state government.

Affidavits from the FBI and Michigan State Police said, at times, the group had discussed storming the state capital and inciting a second civil war.

Arraignment: Six of the seven Wolverine Watchmen were charged in court
The allegations outlined in the criminal complaints and the group’s name -- the Wolverine Watchmen -- bear a striking resemblance to the HBO series “Watchmen."

In the show, a militia group execute a coordinated attack, breaking into police officer’s homes and killing police, before taking over the state government.

Court documents allege the Wolverine Watchmen started recruiting members in November 2020, shortly after the show premiered.

Militia experts from Vanderbilt University and the University of Michigan, as well as a former FBI agent with 30 years experience, said there hasn’t been a link from the show to the militia group, but added militia and extremist groups sometimes get ideas from popular culture.

For years, we’ve heard about the Michigan Militia and its ties to domestic terrorism and secret training drills in northern Michigan.

The Wolverine Watchmen formed very recently. According to the Attorney General’s Office, Joseph Morrison and Pete Musico were founding members of the group that Assistant AG Gregory Townsend described as “committed to violence.”

The group was formed by citizens angered about Whitmer’s orders during the pandemic. They like to recruit in person and don’t have a large presence online, which might be connected to Facebook, Discord and other social media platforms’ decision to remove accounts associated with the boogaloo movement earlier this year.

NBC News found that, “Several of the men charged (with conspiring to kidnap Whitmer) have histories of anti-government organizing, as well as interest in countering what they saw as an ‘uprising’ against President Donald Trump, according to their online profiles and comments.”

Compare the Wolverine Watchmen kooks to JPP kooks who put Trump ahead of the Republican party and the nation itself.

Yep. They have supporters who show up on local medias' FB pages on every single story involving the virus and/or Whitmer, to spew the same crazy jargon and threats. Most of them don't even appear to live up here although some have "camps" here. We had the same kinds of gunhumping wannabe Rambo idiots in outstate Missouri, mostly in the Ozark region. Some even purchased large tracts of land with caves that they used as bunkers and bug-out places, and training grounds. As you might imagine, Confederate flags were displayed along with our flag.

Nothing wrong with living in the woods, shooting guns or waving flags.

OTOH, when some start plotting to commit treason, murder or kidnapping, then those people need to be stopped in their tracks.

Sorry, dude, but you own these creeps. Here's another one of them, at Lansing inside the capitol building, screaming in the faces of the officers protecting the legislators.

And outside... notice the Republicans sign?

The guy in front with the yellow pants and the brown hat - Anybody know what that logo is on his ball cap?

I've seen that logo before. Never knew what it stood for.

Is that supposed to be an 'H?'

When reading hateful, treasonous comments on social media or JPP or other forums, it can be hard to tell who really IS intending to commit terrorism, and who's just a wannabe Rambo.

Correct. Just like when politicians are lying to our faces with campaign promises. Personally, I distrust anyone who goes over the top with emotional rhetoric. Like most of the douchebags on this forum, they are all talk, no action. Most are bitter septuagenarians listening to the Nutjob-in-Chief.

I'm watching Mark Levin's interview of Trump. A whole lot of fluff from Levin to Trump, Trump is ranting about conspiracy theories. After one long-winded story about California fires by Trump, Levin stabs his pencil at Trump and says "You're not an idiot. It's common sense." Trump was silent as he processed that. LOL

BTW, Trump's eyes look dilated again. About 33% the width of his iris. Levin's pupils, in comparison, are half the size of Trumps.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

I was referencing political violence deaths. COVID deaths are pretty predictable based upon known information such as what percentage of the public (or White House) practice and support CDC recommendations.

Regarding violent political extremists, it only takes a few nutjobs to cause problems regardless if they are Left, Right or Vertical. There is so much hate floatin in the public arena it's sure to give nutjobs of all flavors a good excuse to hurt others. These last few weeks leading up to the election are sure to produce an example. If Trump loses, I suspect to see RW violence immediately following the election.

Trump is stoking that with his refusal to commit to a peaceful transfer of power.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Trump is stoking that with his refusal to commit to a peaceful transfer of power.

Agreed.

During tonight's interview of Trump by Fox's Mark Levin, Trump ranted about changing the libel laws so people, specifically the NYT, couldn't spread "lies". Neither Trump nor Levin saw the irony in such a legal change putting Trump at risk for multiple law suits.

The majority of Americans know Trump is more full of shit than a carnival port-a-potty on Sunday night but they also know elections are more about political parties than individual idiots.

This is getting more like the 1960s every day except the "militias" are playing the role of the SDS Weathermen. How many more RWNJs will emerge to attack innocent Americans if Trump loses? My advice is to buy a gun, learn how to use it and be ready to defend your country from terrorists.

The FBI uncovered a plot by an armed militia in Michigan to kidnap Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, it annnounced Thursday.

Seven members of militia group Wolverine Watchmen, or associates of Wolverine Watchmen, face 19 state felony charges filed by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Separately, six individuals were charged by U.S. Attorney Andrew Birge with federal felonies following search warrants executed Wednesday.

WHITMER RAILS AGAINST MICHIGAN SUPREME COURT FOR STRIKING DOWN 2 CORONAVIRUS EMERGENCY ACTS

The suspects, now under arrest, are accused of calling on the groups’ members to identify the homes of law enforcement officers in order to target them; making threats of violence to instigate a civil war leading to societal collapse; and engaging in planning and training for an operation to attack the state Capitol and kidnap government officials, including Gov. Whitmer.

“There has been a disturbing increase in anti-government rhetoric and the re-emergence of groups that embrace extremist ideologies,” Nessel said. “These groups often seek to recruit new members by seizing on a moment of civil unrest and using it to advance their agenda of self-reliance and armed resistance. This is more than just political disagreement or passionate advocacy, some of these groups’ mission is simply to create chaos and inflict harm upon others.”

Through the efforts of more than 200 state and federal law enforcement officials, officers executed a series of search warrants and arrest warrants in more than a dozen Michigan cities, including Belleville, Cadillac, Canton, Charlotte, Clarkston, Grand Rapids, Luther, Munith, Orion Township, Ovid, Portage, Shelby Township and Waterford, according to a press release.

Paul Bellar, Shawn Fix, Eric Molitor, Michael Null, William Null, Pete Musico and Joseph Morrison are all facing state-related terrorism charges connected to the militia plot. The six individuals facing federal charges, accused of conspiring to kidnap the governor are Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, and Brandon Caserta.

TRUMP CANCELING ADS IN KEY BATTLEGROUND STATES, MOVING MONEY SOUTH

“Michigan law enforcement officers are united in our commitment to rooting out terrorism in any form and we will take swift action against anyone seeking to cause violence or harm in our state,” stated Col. Joe Gasper, director of the Michigan State Police.

In early 2020, the FBI learned through social media that a group was discussing a violent overthrow of certain government and law enforcement components, according to the criminal complaint obtained by Fox News.

Among those individuals were Croft and Fox. Through electronic communications, Croft and Fox agreed to unite others and take violent action against multiple state governments that they believe are violating the U.S. Constitution.

The criminal complaint also lays out the group's efforts to train for an attack, including, "firearms training and other combat drills." They met several times in Dublin, Ohio, and Lansing, Mich. At one meeting in Cambria, Wisc., they also tried to construct an IED; however, "The construction of the devices was faulty, and they did not detonate as planned."

Those who attended the meetings were told to leave if they were not willing to participate in attacks against the government and in kidnapping politicians. Franks also brought and fired a rifle with a silencer at the combat exercises, attendees shared photos and video recordings of the exercise on Facebook.

During phone calls monitored by the FBI, Fox said he needed 200 men to storm the Capitol in Lansing to take hostages, including the governor of Michigan for “treason,” and he said they would execute the plan before the 2020 elections.

Yeah........Its true Mr. Trump is not going to spend any more money in Michigan, Wis, Ohio, etc........he's so far ahead its useless to waste any more campaign funds in locked up states....he's going after Blue States now, states like Nevada...Va., Minn., even NY and California. Look for a campaign add Blitz in these states.

Strange ain't how the leader of this group is on record as being a NEVER TRUMPER...according to his social media posts and Twitter Account.
