Trump deliberately sows confusion about COVID

This is leadership?

The latest contradiction w/ the head of the CDC is just the most recent example. But from the start, he has knowingly deceived the public every step of the way: about how serious the threat was, about the #'s, about the timeline for a vaccine, about various treatments, about masks, disinfectant, shutdowns, and every other aspect of this pandemic.

And polls are now showing the results: Americans describe themselves as confused, and not knowing who or what to believe.

People don't want to hear it, and I won't use the "H" word - but this is straight out of every dictator wannabe's playbook. Confusing the public + discrediting all other sources of information = increased reliance on you.

Trump is always lying. Bottom line.

At a time that we needed competent steady leadership, we got as far from that as possible. It is pathetic.

If you have a problem with the way any of this happened, talk with your Governors. They made all the decisions. If that truth gives you a headache, oh fucking well..

Right now we got fifty States with fifty different strategies on how to contain a virus that doesn't know geographical borders, and at the same time, a President, not stepping up, rather, as you say sowing confusion, and also doing his best to undercut many of those States who are addressing COVID

The worst part is that he is doing it all for his own political ends, just what the Founding Fathers envisioned when they authored Article II of the Constitution

Exactly, we got a generational national crisis killing Americans by the day and the President is no where to be found

No. In your case you just have a shitty Governor. Who killed many. The President was there offering help every step of the way. Coumo thought he knew better. I bet all those dead and families disagree.

Popeye, your head is full of air.

Trump wasn't anywhere, it is a national crisis, a generational crisis, one killing close to a thousand Americans a day, and Donny never stepped up to the plate, as I noted, we got fifty strategies dealing with a national crisis while baby Huey is out blaming others and purposely confusing people, all for his own personal political gain, except, it ain't working, Americans are seeing the charade

Trump was offering supplies, ventilators, everything Coumo was asking for. Coumo even commended Trump for it. You have a short, partisan attention span. NY city asshole.

Alexander Hamilton nailed it:

"When a man unprincipled in private life[,] desperate in his fortune, bold in his temper . . . despotic in his ordinary demeanour — known to have scoffed in private at the principles of liberty — when such a man is seen to mount the hobby horse of popularity — to join in the cry of danger to liberty — to take every opportunity of embarrassing the General Government & bringing it under suspicion — to flatter and fall in with all the non sense of the zealots of the day — It may justly be suspected that his object is to throw things into confusion that he may 'ride the storm and direct the whirlwind.'"

Just what the hell are you simpletons confused about?

1) COVID19 is bad

2) Many people die

3) Wait for vaccine and therapeutics

Everything else is politics and semantics

It’s the drum they’re going to beat all the way to November.

Democrats are determined to make this a one issue election but the economy and crime/chaos are starting to resonate with voters.

The topic of this thread is separate from individual mistakes that were made.

This thread is about Trump's campaign of confusion. He has consistently contradicted experts, offered unsubstantiated opinions, given mixed messages & offered much rosier estimates than science or reality would dictate (such as claiming the virus would disappear w/ the warm weather, and now contradicting every health organization on the timeline for a vaccine).

I just don't know how anyone can look at how he has spoken & behaved and think that this is the leader for these times.

Milk it lol.

You don’t think crime/chaos/economy are issues?

Did I say that Trump's crisis management was the ONLY issue?

No, I did not. Those are all issues. But when faced with a pandemic, we have seen Trump's true colors as a "leader," and I used that last term VERY loosely.

You don't want the election to be a referendum on that. But it's a pretty big issue, so you won't get your wish on that.
