yes, i have nominated myself for a darwin award

foolishly, i was PUSHING a wagon along my driveway (instead of pulling it) when i tripped (i was going too fast) and did a belly flop on my driveway - it is made of concrete and sloped downward - i stopped sliding by using my face on the driveway

i injured both hands and arms, my face, knees, elbows, etc

fortunately nothing was broken or fractured, but i have a lot of 'soft' tissue damage

contusions galore

bruises galore (some still appearing)

oh yes, and pain - reduced courtesy of NORCO

oh well

I wouldn't quite give that a Darwin nomination, but does sound painful. Yeah, sounds a bit dumb afterwards, like using a chair instead of a ladder, but we all do those things. Hope you feel better soon!

Owowowowow, sympathies from a fellow klutz! I've found though that over time I've learned to fall so that I don't hurt myself.

Take a martial art. You will learn how to lower the chances of injury when you fall. At least you will learn that first at any worthwhile martial arts training.

I was a gymnast in high school. I've learned well how to fall, believe me! Actually that was never something that I consciously had to learn, it just happens. Have never broken anything and the occasional sprains, long in the past, were from unavoidable incidents (midair collision during volleyball, etc.).
It has been suggested that it's a good thing I don't do surgery with my feet, however. :p

actually i have

also, took acting where you have to learn to fake a fall

i am taking a new drug and it is having some unintended consequences - like think that i am younger and lighter

my balance sucks these days and the NORCO that i have been taking does not help

but i am trying to be more careful - seems that i have worried my family :(

taking fewer risks now
