Are the prosecutors stupid or is the judge an idiot?

I mean they caught Madoff trying to send millions of dollars of jewellry and money to his relatives and friends....

I found this truly ironic because Time.com has a glowing piece today on the prosecutor for the case, that he was the smartest guy in the room and would always win his cases....

Ya sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me....

Sending millions of dollars of jewelry and money (I don't think he actually sent money) to relatives and friends is not a reason to put him in jail before trial. Is he a danger to the community? Is he a flight risk? If the answers are no and no he gets bail.

Prosecutors said Madoff's lawyers' brief to the court on Wednesday failed to mention part of the December 11 criminal complaint in which Madoff was quoted as saying he wanted to transfer $200 million to $300 million of his investors' remaining assets to selected family and friends.

Anyways... this is pathetic... no matter how many excuses Dungheap wants to give white collar criminals....

I find white collar criminals that swindle billions of dollars deserve more jail time than petty criminals like drug dealers....

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Accused swindler Bernard Madoff had signed checks totaling more than $173 million in his office desk ready to be sent out before his arrest, U.S. prosecutors said in court papers on Thursday asking a judge to jail him.

Dungheap owned

Owned? Really? I assumed we were talking about his conduct while out on bail, not his pre-arrest conduct. And if you read the article more carefully you would not that he never actually sent the checks, so I was correct even assuming we were talking about his pre-arrest conduct.

Taste it.

I'm not giving excuses. I'm telling you what the law is. In fact, since the government abuses the shit out of its powers to seize property in drug related offenses I'd like to see the same for white collar fraudsters like Madoff.

Keep on defending white collar criminals Dungheap....

Your a lawyer so all you care about is your own money, not the $50 billion of the investors money....
