The economy, which he did not create is in the dumper. We have dropped in employment far more than any other industrialized country. The difference is we have Trump. They have leaders who believe science and are trying to fight the pandemic. Early on, Trump asked why can't we just let it run its course through the people? It seems that is what he has done.

The debt is proof positive that the tax cut was a total give-away to the rich.
The tax cut DID NOT PAY FOR ITSELF, despite the economy doing well.
Republicans LIED.
Republicans were FOOLING themselves when they voted for it if they thought it would pay for itself.
The real truth is that Republicans and DONALD TRUMP only wanted to grease the rich with that tax cut.
Of course if you throw money at an already-fine economy in the form of tax cuts for the rich, of course that economy is going to do well.
But it is an economy built on false foundations. It cannot last like that. Sooner or later you have to service the debt.
Economists all agree that the only time the economy is strong enough to service the debt is when the economy is doing well. That is when you have to try to pay down the debt. You certainly cannot do it when the economy is in recession. It doesn't generate enough revenue, and you have to pay unemployment. Paying unemployment compensation comes out of the debt, adds onto the debt.
Never ever on any terms believe another word a Republican says about the debt, the budget or financial responsibility. They have blown their ruse. Totally exposed. They just wanted to take care of the greedy rich because that's who backs them and greases their campaigns. If you believe a Republican about government financial responsibility you will be disappointed. They have proven they will let you down and run the debt up.
Now, we all know that as soon as a Democratic administration gets in Republicans are going to start harping about the debt. This is predictable. All those Republican deficit hawks who flew away and magically disappeared as soon as Trump started running the debt up will be back; they will have found their shrill calls once again. We all need to remember their credibility on the debt is SHOT. Don't believe a word they say. It's just noise. They will make noise because it will be all they can do. Just tune it out. It will all be completely meaningless. They have no standing to be talking about it.
