Belarus; Hundreds of thousands protest rigged election.

Cossacks are kind of like Slavic Hillbillies, volatile, dumb, derelicts who wanted to get away from Statehood.

You have been reading too many books.

This is no longer the 17th century when Cossacks were reputed to be the Tsar's most fearsome shock troops.

My Grandmother came from a Don Host cossack family: she went to medical school in Saint Petersburg, her father was a general in the Imperial Army, and her brothers were trained engineers.

Sidebar - my favorite quote about Cossacks came from Napolean, who is reputed to have said if he had Cossack Calvary in his Grande Army, he could conquer the world.

So, you're saying Hillbillies can't produce engineers, or medical school graduates?

Poles were way tougher in military battles than Cossacks.

Figure it this way, in the mid 1600's Poland was attacked by 4 powers, Cossacks, Swedes, Russians & Tatars in the Deluge + Khmelnytsky Uprising.

They could barely take on Poland 1 vs 4.

Belarus has a better chance at survival, than Russia.

Moscow has at least 1.5 million Muslim migrants living there.

They weren't there much, if at all in the 1990's!

Putin's really doing a number on Russia.

I am saying it sounds like what you know about Cossacks comes from a couple paragraphs you read in Wikipedia.

The Cossacks are not a distinct ethnic group that can be pigeonholed and caricatured. Historically, they were loose confederations of East Slavic peoples living in the periphery of the Black Sea. The Great Cossack Hosts have not existed since Tsarist times, and Russians claiming cossack heritage today bear little resemblance to the quasi-militaristic societies of the lower Don and Volga rivers of the 17th century.

Cypress- RT informs us that Pompeo visited Belarus recently offering to supply the country with fuel. The EU has imposed sanctions on Belarus. It seems to me that there is, in fact, dangerous foreign interference .
Putin has contacted Merkle, Macron and others to state that Russia will not tolerate further interference.

Again- Yanqui, go home.

I seriously doubt Pompeo was actually physically in the Republic of Belarus, which probably has not been visited by a U.S. president or Sec State in over 20 years.

Undoubtedly, TrumpCo. is toxic to Belarusian democratic activists, and most of them would not want to be seen in public with them.

You're incorrect on that count.

Again- Yanqui- go home.

While there, Pompeo pledged that the US would meet all Belarus's energy needs.

Again- Yanqui....fuck off.
