I'm gonna shoot myself

come on. the IRS agents I have dealt with are idiots. Can talk circles around them. There is a HUGE grey zone in the tax code.

The reason the IRS is going this route should be painfully obvious. It has nothing to do with 'walking a mile in their shoes' and everything to do with not wanting to deal with the reactions of the populace should the IRS start stealing property and jailing american citizens.

Stealing property has never bothered them before.

very true, but it's never had to be done during a time of extreme housing issues, rising unemployment, an administration change, and a very worried populace buying lots of guns.

LOL.

I just always try to respond to anarcho-capitalism with anarcho-socialism.

Good luck with that revolution.

I always preferred anarcho-freedom, but to each their own.

There have only been two movements in the past two centuries that have been crazy enough to believe that in the abscence of government, society naturally falls along their lines. They would both believe that their vision is freedom, even though there's nothing further from the truth.

These two movements would be anarcho-socialism, and anarcho-capitalism.

Thanks WM, we'll invite you to the party when it starts. In fact, we'll make you the guest of honor, deal?

OK.

don't believe I EVER said that we'd be better off in the 'absence' of government, just that it's best overall to make sure government understands that they SERVE us as we are the sovereign. Sometimes it takes a little violence to make them remember that.

I have more respect for anarcho-capitalists and anarcho-socialists than almost any other ideology. One of my best friends is an older Rhastafarian guy with dreads who is an anarcho-socialist. It's crazy how we can be so much in agreement and yet so different economically. I really respect his opinions (and those of other ASs and ACs) because they are pure and uncompromised.

OMG THIS!!

I had an IRS agent tell me they don't sieze bank accounts, and I kindly asked her to look at my file and notice the time the IRS siezed my bank account. It was quite humorous.

Try operating a business when the IRS takes your money.

Then watch the check you wrote to the IRS bounce the next day.

OH the nineties!! loved it!

It's a political ploy so that the government doesn't seem to hurting.

Government hurt in a democracy can only be doled out to a small minority at a time. Everyone may be being hurt, but they're being hurt by different things depending on which different minority they are in, and they always hate all the other minorities, and only oppose the government in the way its hurting them specifically, and support all the other government hurts.

When a minority gets to become to big they have to look compassionate about what they're doing in order to not lose votes, and so things like this happen.
