Garrett Foster Brought His Gun to Austin Protests. Then He Was Shot Dead.

Whats funny is u defend this dead POS to be on a public road brandishing an AR 15 ...but do not defend the St. Louis couple that brandished a weapon on their OWN land

There's video of the MAGAs brandishing weapons, but there's no video of this guy brandishing his weapon.

Eyewitness accounts say the rifle was pointed at the ground, and the murderer fired from the safety of his car.

They do have a right to freely assemble and protest. He chose to drive to that protest. Why?

So which jurisdiction is it that permits you to shoot someone for blocking traffic?

Link to where it legal to block a public road...Ill wait

He was shot because he came at the car with his finger on the trigger of an AR 15

He had his finger on the trigger... so u are supposed to wait till a gun is pointed at your head before u defend yourself?

In Texas, unlike in Afghanistan under the Kenyan, you do not have to wait to be shot at to defend yourself.

He got justice. He pointed his AK-47 in the direction of a gun-carrying Texan and got the justice he deserved. Sorry if you can’t deal with that.

He got some “frontier justice” because regular law and order was absent.

He had his finger on the trigger

He did? What proof of that?

Yes. Isn't that the point of self-defense? Shooting him wasn't self-defense, it was premeditated murder.

But that goes both ways now. So anyone showing up armed to anything can be shot and the shooter can now not face charges. Sweet.

Where wee all these mourners over this stupid POS when 8 year old Secoriea Turner was killed by a BLM protester in Atlanta?

We've been calling for gun control but you don't want to talk about it because you're a pussy who cannot defend his arguments.

More importantly, don't start beating on and rocking the vehicle because the driver could be armed...

I grimace every time I see those idiots do that.

No one has *any idea* whether occupants in a random vehicle are armed or not; they can’t know the state of mind of the driver and/or how they will react while being assaulted from outside their vehicle.

It amazes me that these incidents don’t produce more casualties.

AUSTIN, Texas — It was not unusual for Garrett Foster to be at a protest against police brutality on a Saturday night. And it was not out of character for him to be armed as he marched.

Foster was carrying an AK-47 rifle as he joined a Black Lives Matter demonstration blocks from the state Capitol in Austin, Texas. Gun-rights supporters on both the left and the right often carry rifles at protests in Texas, a state whose liberal gun laws allow it.

Foster, wearing a black bandanna and a baseball cap, bumped into an independent journalist at the march Saturday, and he spoke matter-of-factly about the weapon that was draped on a strap in front of him.

“They don’t let us march in the streets anymore, so I got to practice some of our rights,” Foster told the journalist, Hiram Gilberto Garcia, who was broadcasting the interview live on Periscope. “If I use it against the cops, I’m dead,” he conceded.

Later that night, Foster was fatally shot, but not by police. Authorities said he was killed by a motorist who had a confrontation with protesters.

Police and witnesses said the man in the car turned it aggressively toward the marchers, and Foster then approached it. The driver opened fire, shooting Foster three times. He was rushed to a hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Austin’s police chief, Brian Manley, told reporters Sunday that as the motorist turned, a crowd of protesters surrounded the vehicle, and some struck the car. The driver, whose name has not been released, then opened fire from inside the car as Foster approached. Another person in the crowd pulled out a handgun and shot at the vehicle as it sped away.

A happy ending!

Hint to the idiot...do not block traffic and approch cars while holding a gun

So when white yahoos armed to the teeth take over a federal building, that's okay by you. When similar slack-jaws show up from around the country at an illegal cattle run, or jam up traffic to protest at local municipal capitol buildings, that's okay by you.

But some SOB with an axe to grind tries to run down folk and then commits a homicide, that's a "happy ending" to you?

Bigoted bumpkins like you with your armchair bravado are going to be really pissed come November....and will lose their minds when similar crap is tried and said perpetrator is shot full of holes...and is ruled a justifiable homicide.

More importantly, don't start beating on and rocking the vehicle because the driver could be armed...

Learn to read, bunky…..the guy tried to run people down FIRST. He's lucky they didn't shoot the shit out of him...but that's because the crowd WASN'T INTO THAT, unlike folk of your mindset.

Remember that next time someone tries to run you and your friends/family down because they don't like what your demonstrating for.

Or maybe you just don't go there in the first place to put yourself in that position? Why was that not an option? The murderer didn't have to drive to the protest, he made a choice to. The murderer didn't have to drive into the crowd, he made the choice to. The murderer didn't have to pull his gun and shoot, he made a choice to.

This "panic" defense didn't work for the "very fine person" in Charlottesville.

So it would seem the murderer made all the wrong choices, so he should be held to account for them.

The rioters do not own the street. Stopping cars driving on a public road and beating on it while threatening the driver is against the law.

The first choice he blew was driving to the protest in the first place.

The second choice he blew was to drive into the protests, knowing that they're happening.

The third choice he blew was to shoot someone.

So that's three bad choices he made before he shot anyone.

Did he drive to that protest looking for a fight and an excuse to shoot someone? That's what his choices seem to indicate.

The rioters do not own the roadway.
