So I Bought Mary Trump's Book This Morning....

It might be an interesting read but I have to be skeptical about how accurate it is. My instinct tells me it's a lot of speculation.
My nieces wouldn't have a clue about analyzing me.
They wouldn't have to. And are your nieces psychologists? Mary Trump is. Your nieces would only have to analyze their own father/sister in order to discern the damage done to the family as a whole.

Yup. Nothing he could do would keep me from voting for him

But let me ask you. Is there anything Biden could do or say or have done that would keep you from voting for him?

"Nothing he could do would keep me from voting for him," kinda says it all, and before you ask, the answer is yes, if Biden did or said even half of what Trump has said and done his ratings in the polls would nose dive faster than a hot knife thru butter

When youre writting fiction there is no limit to how horrible you paint your characters !
Truth is always more boring than fiction.

I called the library to get it and I am no. 228 on the list. I may have to go buy it.

Buy the damn book! Go down to the day labor office and wash dishes for a day! Don't you know that poor woman is estranged from the family and cut out of the will? Save her from another dog food dinner! Sheeesh!! Fucking broke-ass communists!

Imagine what they would think/say if their fathers were dead and they blamed their grandfather for it and there were boatloads of money to be made by denouncing their Uncle....

All of this is addressed in the prologue. She recalls a lot from personal memory, but has also interviewed family members.

Nobody in Trump's family wanted him elected. They dreaded it. Mary makes a good point in the book's introduction about how no Trump besides his children and current wife publicly supported him. Mary Trump recounts an incident of how, a few months after Trump took office, the family was invited to the White House for dinner to celebrate a family member's birthday. The elderly Trump family members were picked up in a little van, and when they arrived, they had to sit at the table according to "personal wealth."

Hello Michael_Panetta,

....And I'm astonished at the picture she paints of the Trump family. Trump's father, Fred Trump, was a manipulative, abusive sociopath who left deep scars in all his children. I'm not justifying Trump's stupidity now, but I understand him in a new light. He's a stunted human being who was never nurtured the way a child ought to be. Fred Trump was a true monster and he really screwed up his kids. The book offers much insight into Trump's destructive, self-defeating behavior.

Is anyone else reading it? What are your thoughts? There is a lot of truly awful stuff to ponder in this book and I haven't even finished it yet.

No, I didn't buy it. I figured I would hear about most of the juiciest stuff and a lot of it would simply confirm what I've already learned. Fred Trump was a lot like his father, a shyster. He was the draft dodger who emigrated to the USA and built a hotel on somebody else's land to scarf up on the gold rush prospectors. Then, when informed that his hotel could not stay where it was, he took it apart, packed it all up, and transported it to a new location which he also did not own, set it back up and went right back into business.

Fred was just as selfish and quite ruthless. A terrible father. Fleeced the government during the years after WWII by building substandard housing on government loans, paying off inspectors, etc. He also was a racist who discriminated on the basis of skin color. So that's how DT was raised. His older brother disagreed with his father and was appalled at how mean he was, did not really want any part of the family business. That's when DT was tapped to take over.

DT was a troubled kid and a bully. He got expelled from public school for hitting a teacher. Then he was sent to military academy where he excelled under the stricter system. When he found he could get extra medals for things like cleanliness he went after all those type 'awards' he could.

Being a millionaire's kid I strongly suspect he simply bought off teachers and paid to have others take tests for him, etc, essentially purchased all his grades, never did all the required reading for any course in his life.

That's why he does not keep up with the basic intelligence briefings that a president is normally supposed to do. He simply lacks the attention span to stay on any subject long enough to comprehend the material.

That's a whole shitload of stupid, right there...

But let me ask you. Is there anything Biden could do or say or have done that would keep you from voting for him?

Trump removed that option with his constant lies, corruption and mishandling Corona. How can you come back from there? Anyone would deserve a shot at fixing this mess. AOC is a better option than Trump. He is a walking, talking disaster.

If it even resembles the National Enquirer or has unsubstantiated drama in it, Democrats are all over it. They live for this crap.

I'm curious why anyone says it's full of lies.

What about the narcissistic, pathologically lying portrayal of Trump doesn't ring true to anyone?

The circumstances around it stink. Anyone can write a book right? Lets see if it holds true or not after some fact checking vetting. Most sensationalist books crumble quickly when that starts.

Fair enough. I've seen her interviewed a few times - it doesn't even seem like she wants to be out in the limelight. It's like she felt a duty to put this out there.

But that's just a gut feeling. No way to know her true motivations, obviously.

I have to admit it will be interesting to see if any of this is real or not. Sometimes books are spot on.

Those who go far out of their way to tell stories of how their family sucks are of a type generally.

You really didn’t answer my question. You deflected. What would Biden have to do to get you not to vote for him? Be specific.

It seemed to line up with what I’ve read about Trump, she gives details of her father, his relationship with the family, her relationship with her family, it’s her version; the family declaring it’s all lies and filing suit, makes you wonder if they protest too much.
