CA isn’t helping my mask skepticism

Correlation is not causation. Basic scientific principle. One a sixth grader understands, but apparently not a Trump supporter. Masks slow the spread of the virus. This is now well established. Concluding that rising numbers in a state that requires masks means that masks don't work is completely unscientific. It's impossible to know what the impact would be without masks. This site attempts to make that calculation, but it's impossible to know. Here in Duval county, cases have dropped more than 50% since a mandatory mask order. I guess that means we can absolutely conclude that masks work. Right?

Science tests a hypothesis by removing all external variables. Get a clue. Seriously. You are embarrassing yourselves.

Did you just say cases dropped 50% in Duval but it’s impossible to know whether it was due to mask compliance or not lol?

Still coming at me, eh?
Daaaaaaaaaaaang a google search brings years of info on a virus no matter how old or not. How about the NCBI? Maybe vaccines and medicinal treatments
can change, but just the simple protocol on whether a mask is used or not on any respiratory system affected coronavirus. (It's been done before)
There were nothing but conflicting views within the WHO, CDC and NIH. Yet, people want to blame Trump when the so-called "medical community"
couldn't even get their act together and on the same page.

And still cannot.

Been my argument all along lol.

Welcome aboard. Next step: when someone says ‘science says masks work’, correct them.

I’ll be watching.

Another flunk. You don't test the efficacy of masks by looking at the number of cases. You test it by determining the amount of droplets that penetrate the mask, and the distance they travel. Man, you are clueless.

You can tell Concart googled that. And has no idea what it means.

Engineering experiment lol.

The human element introduces too many variables. Should have found another thread.

There is no human element in that test. A study is possible only in a controlled environment, but we know how the virus spreads, we know it cannot spread as far when projected through a mask. Class dismissed. Darth, stay after school and write 100 times on the blackboard "I don't understand anything about the scientific method". The rest of you have a nice weekend. Don't forget to wear your masks. You may be saving lives.

Or you may not be lol.

And still cannot.

They never could get all 3 on board at the same time.

So if CA went full Nazi on masks that would help?

What if masks do actually work but CA sucks at controlling their immigration? Maybe they should think about building a wall or something.

There's a similar problem here in NC.

Most of the spread now is happening in eastern agricultural areas of the state with large amounts of migrant labor. Agricultural plants are already known for being cramped and not the most sanitary in some respects, but add undocumented people to the mix, and you never know if they are bringing the virus with them.
