The problems of the airline industry has been major news. El Al has cancelled all flights. Most airlines have cancelled most flights. 95% of the planes are grounded. Some major international airports have seen a 99% reduction in business.

Why would anyone cover such a big, and frankly obvious story up?

24 Hour Fitness filed on June 15 and announced that it will permanently close more than 100 of its roughly 400 gyms, citing the “disproportionate impact” of the coronavirus pandemic on the fitness industry.

Advantage Rent A Car filed on May 26, four days after its competitor Hertz, with global travel still ground to a halt.

Illinois-based pharmaceutical company Akorn filed on May 20, two years after Fresenius backed out of a planned $4.3 billion takeover over quality control concerns.

The ALDO Group, a Montreal-based shoe retailer that operates about 3,000 locations in more than 100 countries, filed on May 7 under pressure from store closures.

American Addiction Centers, the first publicly traded addiction treatment provider in the U.S., filed on June 20.

Private-equity-backed APC Automotive filed on June 3. Demand for auto parts has sunk during the pandemic and import tariffs on metals have cut into its margins as well.

Apex Parks Group, which had to close its 12 entertainment centers and water parks due to the pandemic, filed for a Chapter 11 reorganization on April 8.

Art Van Furniture, a midwestern retailer with 176 locations, filed on March 8. As the economic crisis worsened, it converted its Chapter 11 reorganization to a Chapter 7 liquidation in early April.

Avianca, which served more than 30 million passengers last year as one of Latin America’s largest airlines, filed on May 10 with all of its passenger flights grounded since mid-March due to Covid-19.

This is just the short list; there are many, many more. As the airlines and oil companies start shedding good high paying jobs, this cascade will create such a massive collapse that we have never seen before.

This isn't about Trump. This is about our collective insanity and the fear mongering the PHONY media has engaged in over a disease that has killed a teeny tiny fraction of the population. In my entire lifetime, I have never seen such mass hysteria over something so minute as a respiratory virus.

So now the media is supposedly not reporting layoffs but instead purposely echoing COVID to create paranoia cause they are still mad Trump got elected in 2016, in other words, the “it is a Democrat/media hoax” schtick we saw back in February/March to even include the it is no worse than the flu line, “minute as a respiratory virus.”

You don't realize the reason all the airlines around the world are failing badly is because of Covid-19? This is part of the "COVID COVID COVID" story. I assume that anyone who does a reasonably complete Covid-19 story would mention the collapse of the airlines. I cannot be 100% sure. I don't watch the evening news, because I do not have cable. I do listen to The Economist newscasts.

The collapse of the oil market will be remembered long after Covid-19. Oil prices actually went negative... NEGATIVE!!! It does not seem possible, but it actually happened. It is illegal for oil companies to coordinate prices among themselves, for obvious reasons. Only the white house can coordinate domestic prices, and trump failed so badly at that it will be remembered for thousands of years.
