Hand sanitizer bottles exploding

Yes. There's a danger, but the picture of the blown up door was a mistake by Wisconsin fire department. Why do you think Car and Drive is printing "fake news"?

Because the ignition point of alcohol is not achievable inside a car in the Sun. Maybe on Mercury it'd happen but not on this planet.

The autoignition point for ethyl alcohol is 363 °C (685 °F), so yeh it's total bullshit!!

Don't even bother. If they can't find a way to argue against it, they'll just ignore it and tell other people who are as dumb as they are, because they want it to be true and that desire is the only important thing. If you told them Trump was going to put on a green outfit and go around stealing everyones Christmas tree they'd believe it.

People tend to see what they want to see...those of us who got ourselves education know better.

I think what they are talking about is the expansion of gasses in the bottle causing it to splooge all over the inside of the car like a teenager on Prom Night. 300 degree liquid can cause burns. Blowing up like a Hollywood car going over a cliff? Not so much...and the article made the facts very clear. No "fake news".

Literally fake news. You fucking idiots will literally believe anything.

"Will a Hand Sanitizer Bottle Explode in Your Car? Probably Not, but Be Safe Anyway
"Firefighters raise alarm that alcohol-containing sanitizer plus hot weather can equal trouble. How much trouble? Enough that you shouldn't leave it in the car."

And what is fake? They WILL explode? They won't?

What a way with words you have.

Can you cite a single case of this ever happening? Don't be so gullible.

I'd prefer you become the first to be smoking a big cigar and hop in a car where a 6 oz bottle of alcohol-based hand sanitizer just atomized itself. Do it for science.

Jesus, the fucking retards on this forum obviously don't know how to make bombs, boobie traps or IEDs. That's the problem with kids these days; too many video games, not enough outside playing with gasoline and matches.

My guess is that certain parties on this thread are butt hurt because of the first sentence in the OP. It has nothing to do with the potential hazard or the physics of cars, greenhouse effect and liquids and everything to do with partisan politics.
