At this point, forcing kids to miss another semester borders on criminal. Democrats are tempting fate with this. It’s not good for the kids; it’s places a significant burden on young families AND it isn’t necessary. Studies have shown that even when kids get COVID their viral load is low so they aren’t apt to transmit the bug to adults—it’s generally adults giving it to them.

What is worse for a kid's mental health:

(1) Being at home, learning remotely, surrounded by their family?

OR

(2) Wearing bulletproof backpacks to a school with armed guards where they have to do active shooter drills?

If you think #1 is worse, then that means you had shitty parents and you're a shitty person.
 
The problem with home schooling is lack of socialization, lack of standardization and most importantly the fact that almost all parents are not competent to teach children to be useful adults
who can care for themselves and their own children in the modern world. Home schooling should be exceptionally rare.

Can you think even a little? That was as typical, insulting and dishonest. Dems are super concerned about the immediate spread of Corona through schools. Corona may not be a permanent condition. If we stop its spread, then school can be safe. We opened businesses too soon and Corona is cranked up. That gives us pause about doing the same thing to schools. There is very limited data about the ability of children to spread it and get it.The data gathering has not been focused on kids. It is like a new field of study, Sans real data, the left does not want to risk it.

Ah, but a kid could catch it and spread it to their parents. Not to mention the staff at the school. Teachers can do remote instruction. There is no need to push kids back into overcrowded schools where they have to not only dodge COVID, but bullets too.
