ROFL!!!! That was great! Finally someone understands what Joe was singing about. LOL
The music of 60's and early 70s was great. Today's music doesn't compare. Show me some musicians today that equal Jimi or Clapton or Zepplin or Zappa or Dylan.
Yep I'm a geezer.

no, but i was in different parts of the world during the 60's and only remember parts of it...Do you know how they go?![]()
The Sixties was among the most intellectual, courageous, and creative periods in American history. American society and people today pale in comparison.
Americans then took courageous stands, even the college students. Today, Americans have become swallowers and all we take is whatever they stick in us.
.. and oh yeah, the "music" is putrid.
I was a kid in the 60's, but will say it was interesting times to be growing up. Lots of energy. Some very important things happened, forefront being Civil Rights which led to Women's Rights. There was also great music, but will say that was true of the 50's and 70's too.
As with all or at least most idealistic eras, it led to excesses. William Ayers is one example. It's weird that the decade that gave us the most progressive legislation also gave us the worst upheaval regarding war, assassinations, civil unrest, and changing family units.
The 60's were simple and complex at the same time.

There will always be excesses .. but the energy, courage, creativity, passion, and awakening of the 60's was an amazing thing to behold. I am truly blessed to have lived the period I've lived and to have met the people I have.
The thing that makes us all unique is our memories. It's the most precious thing we own. Whenever I die .. again .. I'll die happy.
Whenever someone tries to rib me about my age, my response is always, yeah, but if I was any younger I would have missed the 60's.
