Atlanta officers not responding to some 911 calls

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard earlier in the day announced 11 charges against Garrett Rolfe, who was fired after he shot Rayshard Brooks twice in the back on Friday night. A third shot hit a car with three people inside.

In a statement, the Atlanta Police Department saying reports that multiple officers from each zone had walked off the job were inaccurate.

The department is experiencing a higher than usual number of call outs with the incoming shift. We have enough resources to maintain operations & remain able to respond to incidents,” the statement said.

I found a loose dog. I called the humane society and they sent cops. The cops are doing it now. Take the money from cops and refund the Humane Society or animal departments.

Why task police officers with such a thing? It's as stupid as using soldiers to stop student protests. Shouldn't police be spending their time doing the job they are trained to do?

Aren't police there to help the community in whatever way necessary at the moment? Teachers don't have a singular "job", for example....it would be sad if you thought they did;)

yes, fewer police officers, less for them to do. Anyone claiming "more dead social workers" needs to back that up with facts and/or reasoning. It's called "White Flight" and that was happening before you were born. This isn't Archie's Place in the 1970s. Raise property taxes to keep up the value and out the riffraff, race has nothing to do with it. With that there is no reason for more businesses to close or the area suffer urban decay.

Trump's head is up his ass in the 1970s. I advise everyone to ignore him since his "vision" is obscured with his own shit.

Help in what way? Act as a Jack-of-all-trades/Master-of-none? Teachers also don't have do the work of the police, empty the garbage, provide 24 hour security and a host of other jobs that are given to people more appropriately trained.

It's sad to think what children are being taught by "teachers" who don't understand the issue here. Worse if our military and civilian leaders didn't understand either.

That said, all military professionals understand "mission creep" and every one of them hate it.

You obviously don't understand what officers...or teachers... actually do on a daily basis....no surprise there...join them for a week on the job sometime;)

Daily boredom and wasting time, punctuated by potentially dangerous incidents. Traffic tickets. donuts. Then the dangerous calls, family squabbles. Cops hate those.

Of course. Why not trust a group of people who support corruption in Law Enforce and the occasional killing of a black American?

Isn't that how gang members "make their bones"? By killing someone? If those with "Blue Flu" don't support corruption and murder, then why are they calling in sick over the arrest of those who have been caught doing so?

Professional pilots; 99% sheer boredom, 1% sheer terror. Does that allow us to crash planes intentionally? Bail out with a load of passengers?

The real difference is those police officers took an oath and airline pilots did not.

Why do you think it's important that I know understand what officers actually do on a daily basis in order to understand it's wrong to shoot someone twice in the back and then kick them when they lay dying? Why do you think I need to understand the same about teachers to understand that it's wrong to pump eight bullets into an innocent EMT then lie about it on an official report?
