Until he steals their gun, wake up woke guy! The guy was a criminal, drunk driving putting peoples lives in danger, who assaulted two police officers and stole one of their stun guns and then attempted to use it on one police officer! When you answer me why he should be allowed to do those things and not be taken down we can discuss it. He knew he was on his way back to jail and wasn't having it!

There are any number of ways this encounter could have ended peacefully, just listen to the the police officials.
Hindsight will get you dead as a police officer! It's easy to criticize after the fact in other words!
