Obama's Speechwriter

I would love to see those "numbers." All I heard about was some stunt Fox News pulled where they interviewed people on the street in Harlem and edited in the one's who had no idea what they were talking about into a segment meant to prove that black people and Obama supporters are dumb. I never saw any numbers.

It was Howard Stern, not Fox News.

Ok gang, this picture was a joke. Plain and simple. The truth of the matter is, women with the same education as me make less per hour on average than I do, because I have a dick. This is a REAL issue that feminists should be STILL going off on, but no, a couple of guys, decided to be mildly boorish and THIS is what she is "disheartened" about. Sorry, I don't care. The fact is, there are soooo many more things at the top of the list that people who are worried about women's rights should be concerned about.

The feminists who developed and write on the blogs I am speaking of, are accomplished, young, third-wave feminists, most with masters degrees and many of whom have published books. From time to time, I contribute to Feministing, and have a very slight personal familarity with Jessica Valenti, the editor. At 40, I do not qualify as a third waver, (too old) or as second waver (too young), and I'm not one of them. But I do know enough to know that these are extremely accomplished, very sharp young women, who have done a lot at a very young age, and they aren't finished yet. Far from it.

At any rate, these women are forging a modern feminism and suprisingly, they are not taking orders as to what "real" issues are from anyone.

I also have always found it kind of insulting when someone tells me what a "real" feminist issue is. It's always equal pay. When I was part of Codepink, a lot of people would see our pink colors when we did displays and assume we were there for breast cancer. It was interesting, and, eventually, condescending. Breast cancer is the society-approved "woman's issue". And equal pay is the society-approved "feminst issue".

But women are about so much more than breast cancer, and feminism is about so much more than equal pay. Even putting aside the obvious fact that there are many things which contribute to the pay disparity, and in my opinion there is no doubt that the sexualization of women in the work place if but one of them.

Darla .. c'mon sweathart ... you just figured out now that there are hypocrites to the left? Ahhh honey..shoot.., they come in all sizes, shapes and gender ... by the way... you havent seen the real numbers... have you? The numbers that show an outrageous number of Obama voters liked the fact the he is pro life and supports the Iraqi war.

As to the "real numbers" Klaatu, I belive that IB is correct.

As for hypocrites on the left, no I'm not surprised. But I don't see it as much in political labels; it's gender. Men are men. They're pigs for the most part.

My gf's and I were out to dinner not too long ago, and probably had too many martinis. One of my friends was confiding some details of an short-term relationship she had had with a lefty guy we all knew from the peace movement. This guy was kind of physically repulsive, and my friend is hot. He got her with what I call the old "ERA or bust" trick from the 70's. You know, a bunch of horny guys wearing those t-shirts hoping it will get them laid. This particular guy was a poet. Personally, I thought his poetry sucked, but I don't have a thing for poets, my friend does. He did the whole "look how deep and sensitive I am and how much anguish I feel over these senseless war deaths". So she slept with him, believing he was a feminist, a pacifist, a deep thinker, all of that crap. Yeah, it works sometimes.

A couple of weeks in, in the middle of you know what, he says to her "can I blank on your face" Yes I know this is a vulgar story, but men are vulgar people. Sorry.

So, that night in the restaurant, we, drunk, laughed ourselves red-faced, and to the point where most of the people in the restaurant kept looking over at us. All over the idea that you can think you are going home with a sensitive, deep, man-kind loving poet, and next thing you know you are on your back with some animal asking "can I blank on your face".

Of course she said no, and she broke up with him. But oh yeah, I'm well aware that men are men, right or left, and they get off for the most part, on sexually demeaning women. There wouldn't be billions of dollars a year made on violent, sexually demeaning, internet porn, if that weren't the case.

I've personally always found anal sex, coming the face etc. disgusting. However, porn is awesome, and I am a porn addict. I just skip over those parts.

AND BACK TO THE SINK WOMAN

Ha ha, I was freaking pretty high when I wrote this. It's not half bad actually. Ever since I started physical therapy, the good part has been how much my arm has responded to it - it looks like I'm going to retain full range of motion, which my orthopedic guy had told me I'd never do if I didn't have surgery. But I don't like to give a doctor a chance to kill me unless I'm terminal anyway, so I refused.

The down side has been that the pain has really come back, and I get up in the middle of the night, nearly every night, and last night I had a few shots to put me back out.

But, that's a true story and I'd really like to write a book about how stupid men are. I'd like to have one chapter named "can I ----on your---" and another one would be called, of course, "the inconspicious penis".

Well, I'm not a porn addict, and I find a lot of what they do to be "entertaining" to be unpleasant. Actually, the anal sex doesn't bother me, but I agree with you on the face stuff.

What kind of pot do you get?

What kind of pot do you get?

No, shots of vodka - pear flavored and chilled, it's delicious.

I don't really buy much pot. Sometimes I'll buy some from a friend of mine who always has an ounce hanging around. I don't smoke that much. I didn't smoke it for years, but then this year I started doing it again once in a while.

Do you smoke a lot of it?

Im not supposed to at this job. One of the requirements for working here is pee in a cup. :cig:

Yeah, where I used to work it was the same. You take a chance, cause you never know when they might tap your shoulder.

The pee test is a screening and can be beaten with about a gallon of water intake for 12hours before the test and if you haven't smoked for 3 or 4 days. Definitively doesn't take a month for screening. Tho if they see any masking or questionable results they will send it in for further testing where they will see it up to 30days.

Ok been crazy here lately so not alot of time to post...in addition to my 3 yr old twins I am now keeping an infant for extra money. I was snooping, however, and couldn't pass up this post. I would LOVE to know who makes pear vodka, and where can I find it?? :)

What happens if a kid tests positive?

Matter is turned over to law enforcement to be taken up with parents. Kid is suspended from playing sports (or participating in any extra-curricular activity) until matter is taken care of and negative test occurs. No suspension from school or loss of class time unless one is a repeat offender.

It's so great, and with all of those toddlers and infants around, no one needs it more. Grey Goose makes it - they call it La Poire. I believe that Absolute also makes it Meg. I'm not sure who else.

Does the kid get arrested? If so, that's nuts. I also think it's counterproductive to suspend kids from extracurricular activities but what do I know.

LOL you have no idea. THANK YOU!! I am going to try and sneak out when the husband gets home and get some. Maybe I'll be the one making drunk posts tonight ;)
