Pelosi Introduces Horrible $3 Trillion Relief Bill

Hello Geeko Sportivo,

I like Cinnabar! I like Bernie! Just didn't see the party or the nation moving in that direction!

Same here. Totally agree.

We share a strong like for Bernie. I supported him, donated to his campaigns. I was a Bernie fan before being a Bernie fan was cool. I donated to his campaign to become Senator. I wanted / wished for the party to recognize and adopt his ideas. Made the most sense of all.

I am so glad we have Bernie. Sure, it was a lot to ask for so many people to adopt such big changes, and I am so very glad the party has moved further to the left, but what we were asking was for a lot of big change. And that just happens slowly. Like the heating of the planet. A force is applied to a large mass and it moves slowly. I believe we'll get there some day, but that day has not come and elections won't wait for enough minds to change for such big change so quickly.

That is why it is logical to compromise and get what we can.

It is foolish to hold out on the basis of ideals and thus prevent moving closer to the ultimate goal through sheer stubbornness.

There comes a time when you have to place your feet back on the ground and make a stand for what is right, oppose what is wrong.

Election 2020 is it.

Very eloquently put, in fact, benevolently.

I come from a family of Texas Conservative Democrats that have mostly died off and disappeared. Well, I'm dating myself, but I haven't swayed much in ideology in the last 50 years.

The Democrats have had many crossroads, and seems there are times when it has moved right, and other times have moved left, depending on issues, of course.

But me, I must be a hardhead, quite possibly the Conservative shining through, when it comes to the moving left of the base.

Bernie's ideas of taking away Conventional for-profit Heath Insurance was a bridge too far for me to go. Just call me Pro-Choice if you want, but I approach most things that way. Give people the choice when it comes to Health Insurance or Abortions and most other conundrums people run into, and they are usually smart enough to know what is right for them, if given a choice. Taking away choices sounds too much un-Democratic (if that is a word} to me.

Should we extend High School to include Public Jr. College or Trade School- Yes, and it should have been done in every state and county in the nation 40 years ago- IN MY OPINION. BUt the way to do that is through Federal Grants, but through normal Local School Taxes FIRST AND FOREMOST. But to try to force 4 year Universities to become non-profit Federal Education facilities is wrong. Here again- CHOICE!

Should the federal government pick up the tabs on every student loan out there NO! Should student loans be non-profit- YES!

I could go down the entire list of issues that divide Republicans and Democrats, and you'll normally find me somewhere in the middle of the usual binary states that should not have never been either/or in the first place.

I hope that explains my reasons why I thought Bernie and his revolution wouldn't work for me, and the reasons why I think it wouldn't work for the Vocal and Voting Majority!
