Who The "F" is Trump to decide the fate of Ben Frankilin's Post Office?

“Should?” Tough shit, pal. That wasn’t the agreement going in. The agreement was that I would work for less money than the equivalent private sector job with the promise that I would have those benefits upon separation. No guarantees that I would live long enough to collect them. The employer had use of the funds I paid in for 35 years, pal. Now, I’m reaping the benefits of that contract.

Sucks for you, huh?

the employer doesn't have use of the funds you pay into your pension........unless its the state of California, perhaps, and then they only have use of the funds they were SUPPOSED to add to the pension fund.....

I hope he drops dead first.
Couple of points...Fed Ex and the Post Office have been working in conjunction with each other for decades. USPS pays Fed Ex to transport mail/packages across the nation via air, as USPS got rid of it's airplanes years ago. This is a revenue stream for Fed Ex. Not sure if they use UPS planes too?

Fed Ex/UPS will not deliver to a p.o box. Post Office does. In some instances, the cheapest shipping rates from UPS/FE entail delivery to the local post office, and you pick it up.

USPS' package delivery quality is nowhere near that of UPS/FE, but their pricing is a small fraction of that of the former. As Fed Ex used to advertise... "when it absolutely has to be there overnight".

At the time, it was $20 for up to 1 lb.. I'm not sure what overnight delivery costs now.

Heres an idea for Florida rat........ If you are still concerned by election day,...which you wont be as its all a ploy in a lame attempt to vote by mail to defraud an election,.......simply get off your dead ass, go to the polling station, wear a mask and rubber gloves , then go home. Pretty simple. If your main concern is TRULY the sanctity of the vote that is. ;)

Nope, wrong again. Voting as usual in November. People all across the country have started going back to work already. In fact,...most other states are scheduled to begin opening up again within the next few weeks. If people are able to go out to WORK,...then people are able to go out to VOTE. I know that things like actually WORKING for a living dont actually effect someone as lowly as YOU,....but remember,......it is those that DO go out to work that pay your pathetic check each month, provide you with food and shelter. Mail in voting is a NO GO,....just watch. The vote will go on like it always has,....and you WILL LOSE that vote. ;)

the lib's plan is a failure......by November the economy will have recovered........everyone who wants to go back to work will be back to work......those who don't want to go back to work will still be collecting unemployment (it lasts till December 20 here in Michigan).........everybody wins except Biden........

The post office takes no money from the Federal government. It completely pays for itself, plus it is under attack by Republicans. The lame duck Congress of 2006 imposed quite an onerous requirement on the USPS, which if the same requirement were forced on FedEx or UPS, they would scream bloody murder and government over reach.

Republicans actually required the USPS to prefund the retirement accounts of all postal workers, and anticipated future workers who are not even born yet, for the next 75 years.

No other for-profit corporation has had such a crushing regulation imposed on their free business.

If the president wanted to cut regulations to help out the economy, this is the most flagrant job-killing regulation out there.

Drain the swamp. Get rid of the president.
By now, we realize that trump knows nothing. Absolutely nothing. Pick a topic (that doesn't entail hookers), and he's a bumbling moron.

When he comments about how USPS is running it's business, he doesn't even realize that USPS is non profit. It isn't allowed to turn a profit.

Much like every business he's ever run into the ground.

At least USPS doesn't declare bankruptcy.

Reminds me of when Obama was President in a way. Back then you had a bunch of dildo's running around repeating " You need to pay YOUR fair share " but those very same people never actually paid one thin dime of taxes in theyre lives. Always funny when some welfare recipient tells others to PAY theyre fair share while paying nothing themselves!

As if any government agency is “profitable”

Cut it loose. We need to shut down the post office to save lives and the environment

1) think of all the pollution that would be negated by shuttering all of those mail trucks?
2) think of all the airplane travel saved
3) we can’t have the Chinese virus spread from these packages to unsuspecting people while they are being handled by postal workers

It is a matter of life and death and the environment to shut down the post office. If you don’t want to shut down the post office then you want people to die from Wu Flu
What airplane travel?

Thats your usual ignorance. They were forced to fund pensions, not for today, but for the next 75 years. Funding pensions for employees who do not even work their yet. They are the ONLY federal agency required to do this.
Medical benefits...for people who aren't even born yet.

demmycrats think doing their fair share is cashing their EIOC.......

you can get all of your bills online now

there are private services like FedEx and UPS that do it better than the post office
I do. It's great. That's a big part of why USPS is suffering. No private service can 'do it better' than USPS. Why don't you go to the Fed Ex website and get a price for sending a letter from NY to Cal. in two to three days?

Let us know what it would cost.

BTW...if there is mail in voting, it would still be done by Fed Ex/UPS if USPS is gone. The term 'mail' might change.

Not quite....to meet rising COLA, the USPS would every few years raise the price of stamps BY PENNIES. It wasn't until the Shrub & the GOP congress enforced an absurd requirement regarding pre-payment on retirement funds that things got seriously bad for them.

Like I told another poster, you think you've got something to bitch about now, just wait to see the price mark ups you'll face if the USPS does fold for privatization.
And...when fuel goes up in price, USPS spends billions more/year.

The post office is in much bigger trouble than that.

This operation must be funded by the Feds, off of taxes in theory which with a government that now raises so much of its operating budget via Generational Warfare means not taxes actually.

It is the dream/fantasy that postage rates should be all that the Post Office needs that is the major problem.
Read up buddy. You're way behind the rest of us.
