This "Doctor" Is Not Even a Nurse

But I actually watched the video that Havana Moon claims is "This doctor says lockdown is a lie". The individual in the video refuses to identify himself, but his grammar is poor. He does not seem to know much about why things are happening, and according to him, no one is interested in telling him. He does not understand that most "virus tests" are actually looking for the RNA or DNA of the virus, or the antibodies that react to the virus. All of this made me begin to question whether he really is a doctor. I mean, how does a medical doctor not know what a "virus test" is?

But then I watched it again, and heard the first claim he made. He said he was a "respiratory therapist". That is NOT a doctor. It is not even a nurse. They are sometimes called nurses, but are in fact less qualified than nurses.

A doctor would typically have 14 years of education, and training after high school. It would not be uncommon for it to be far more, and sometimes it can be a year or two less. But 14 years is a reasonable estimate.

A respiratory therapist has, at most, 2 years of education after high school. He has an associate degree from a community college. If he had a bachelors degree(4 years), he would be a respiratory nurse.

The reason no one is telling him why things are happening is they do not think he would understand, and they do not care about his input. It is the same reason no one is explaining to the janitorial staff.

I hope this helps Havana Moon understand the difference between a highly educated and trained medical professional, and a slightly trained support staff.

Thailand is a good place to study if "heat" really does kill the virus like Trump says. Does anyone think Havana would volunteer to make that study? Yeah, me neither.

Joan of Snark living up to her well deserved reputation for nastiness. I am living in Chonburi province east of Bangkok and it was reported yesterday that there were no new cases of Covid 19. Overall there have been only 50 deaths in a population of 69 million. Granted there may be some underreporting but I think it proves conclusively that this virus hates heat and humidity. The same story is repeated in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Look up the figures if you don't believe me or ask Mr. Owl he'll mansplain it for you.

The title 'Doctor' for scholars long pre-dates the time when butchers and such leaned to perform operations on humans and took up the title (wonder where that usage came from?) , and it had nothing to do with medicine. Back in those days, health was looked after by wise women with a knowledge of herbs, who risked being burned, while the people who knew much about the theory were mostly Moslems. It would be entirely ridiculous if real experts in, say, the poetry of Baudelaire or the geology of Uzbekistan were to hold forth about cures for constipation. Just because you get some PH.D's in borderline subjects like this, it doesn't move them up the medical ratings, surely?
