What would be your next step?

So nobody told you this?

Once identified and documented, viruses are very dominate in their world. They become a dynasty where old viruses wane out. So if you don't have a dominant current virus, most likely you do not have a virus at all, but rather a bacteria!

So nobody told you this?

Your doctor will explain this to you when you go down to get your flu shot!

Doctors are asked questions concerning this and are quite prepared to answer this for inquisitive minds!

Perhaps you need a little chat with your doctor!

Yes, but you are the psycho that also suspects Michelle Obama is part orangutan and that she is a man!

So your suspicions are baseless, stupid, and those of a shit-k-bob!

So much civility. Do me a favor; next time you lecture me on civility, shove that empty head of yours between your legs and then jump Mkay? ;)

The whole time I asked you to be civil, and I would to, I have kept my word with you!

You are the one who has insulted me personally on every post I have made since.

I never expected you to agree with me, but I did think you were a big enough person to stop insulting me personally!

So you broke our truce immediately and have continued to do so since!

You have a fever of 102.3, cough, chills, fatigue, runny nose, sniffles, body aches, sore throat and generally feel like shit. You present to your physician and she does an influenza test and it comes back negative. She then does a COVID19 test because you are really, really scared. It comes back negative. You aren't sick enough to be admitted to the hospital

First off, do NOT present yourself to a physician. I cannot stress this enough. You are endangering her life, and all her patients lives. She cannot do a Covid-19 test for you, no matter how scared you are. Call her and find where to get a Covid-19 test, if you have the symptoms of Covid-19. If you test positive, then get everyone you came into contact with tested.

What people are scared of with Covid-19 is transmitting it to others. Once you know you have not transmitted it to others, there is no problem. Go on with your life as usual.

Yes I disagree. And i you aren't wanting more testing you would want to know what the actual virus is right?

Once again, it does not have to be a virus. Bacteria, funguses, and other things also cause diseases.

The reality is that most diseases go undiagnosed. As long as it is not spreading out of control, killing a lot of people, we move on. In fact, taking up precious medical resources over finding exactly what disease you have, in this time of trouble, would be a waste.

Lets say we can find a Covid-19 patient who will transmit the disease to 10,000 people and kill 200 people, or we can figure out which disease you had but recovered from in a few days. Which is a better use of our resources?

If doc says it's bacterial, I'd be given antibiotics and a steroid. If not, I'd go home, rest, stay hydrated, gargle salt water, drink a bunch of chicken soup for comfort and take NyQuil.

Good advice from Stretch. We do not get all the answers in life, and wasting medical resources on trying to find all the answers in the middle of a pandemic is the acts of a sociopath. Make sure it is not Covid-19, for the safety of the community, and then do the normal actions to take care of your health.

what if you test negative for flu and the chinese virus Dr. Walt. Given your medical training what would you suggest?

Continue testing so we can identify the virus at hand and do contact tracing for that? If not why not?

So you can't spread bacterial or other viruses to other people? Shouldn't we try to prevent the spread of EVERY virus?

This virus isn't that special when you consider 98% of people have ZERO or mild symptoms, but apparently it has scared the shit out of you

The question is NOW WHAT?

What do you do next? What is the next step?
Visit every person I don't like, give them a bag of fruit that I've personally examined for perfection and say "Sorry for all the trouble. I'm in recovery and seeking to make amends. Nice house! See ya!"

Then I'll go home, monitor my temperature, take some meds and drink lots of water. Eat when hungry and drink when thirsty while waiting to see what happens.

Weren't you the one bloviating to me about civility? What is it about leftists and their profound lack of self awareness?
So much civility. Do me a favor; next time you lecture me on civility, shove that empty head of yours between your legs and then jump Mkay? ;)

No need to go nuts, TD. Take a few breaths before you hurt yourself or do something to regret. ;)

Even if I was sent home, if I became sick enough, I'd be one ambulance ride from the hospital so there's no need for anyone to shit their Depends worrying about this. Well, as long as there are enough beds. If there's 10,000 victims but only 1,000 beds then they'll have to decide who stays and who gets sent home to live or die.

One triage system might be : 1) Under 50, has job in six figures+, 2)Married women and children. Last would be the elderly sucking off their pensions and social security. Great way to make room for apartments.

So you wouldn't ask to be tested for other viruses?

Such as? If other stuff was going around, yes. It'd be the smart thing to do. I've had my flu shot, but other strains of flu float around.

well viruses always go around every year.

Didn't you know that? Didn't you learn that at Wikipedia University?

In fact there are so many other viruses that we never test for but cause significant morbidity and mortality every year that the CDC has a classification for them "Influenza Like Illness"

But, hey if you don't want to be tested then maybe testing isn't all it is cracked up to be. Guess you only want to know about "certain" viruses and the rest you can spread around?

LOL. Dude, you're high school bully routine is lame. I fail to see why you are so scared. There's nothing to worry about here. Yes, without a job it's bad, but look at "the Greatest Generation". What made them so great? Because "adversity builds character". It was rough for anyone who came of age in 1915 and nearing retirement in 1945.

It's rough on everyone of working age but it's deadly to millions of Americans vulnerable to this disease. It's only been a few weeks. Certainly a little national togetherness for a few weeks more is reasonable.
