Crowds flock to reopened Jacksonville beaches as Florida hits record coronavirus case

If they're all going to die in this is a good thing to you you should be cheering them on. Chances are 99% of them will survive if they catch the Chinese virus. So what they're doing is creating immunity through antibodies. what would you say sealed up in your plastic bubble scared of everything the rest of the world will leave you behind.

If you spend all of your life being terrified of death, you never live.

if the white trash wants to off themselves, salute, problem is now they ill go out and infect others

just like people do every year with the flu and tens of thousands of people die from it every year.

If you don't quarantine every flu season you are a hypocrite.
just like every year with the flu so science is suspended for the flu so you don't have to be quarantined during flu season.

Smart for the first time in years. Because every flu season people get infected with that and die. do you quarantine every flu season if you don't you are a hypocrite and you are not smart.

Another one comparing this pandemic to the seasonal flu because the Fox propaganda network and Cadet Bone/Brain Spurs told you so. Hopeless...I will not waste my time.

Lock down can't stop the Haulover CORONAVY - 4/17/20

So many people have their own docks behind their homes, rent slips at many marinas and live aboard so they're out enjoying the sun and water.

Every flu season is a pandemic of this magnitude.

That's the reason why I think you are a hypocrite.

Hello Cinnabar,

What makes you say that say that the small clusters you see are actually contained groups such as families? That would be quite an assumption.

I don't think that's much of a stretch. People all cooped up together in the house and somebody says hey we can go walk on the beach who wants to go, well everybody who is bored of being inside is going to want to go. That's a pretty basic straight forward assumption.

Do ya think if somebody announced they were going for a walk on the beach, something nobody could do for weeks, that the others stuck in the home are going to say have a nice time? And NOT want to go too? That seems harder to believe.

I can understand the criticism from around the country. Especially after the spring break debacle, and most people don't have the luxury of being able to drive a short distance to the beach. So there is a bit of envy factor at work with the cries of 'Florida Morons' on twitter.

I am concerned that this will cause a spike in the Jacksonville numbers, so I am very curious to see the result of that. But we just won't know until it plays out a while.

It should also be noted that this in no way is 'opening up the country for business.'

Nobody is making any money off people walking on the beach. The bars and restaurants are still closed. I doubt many people are booking vacations to Jacksonville so they can walk on the beach. MAYBE they could get a hotel room, but where would they eat? All the restaurants are closed. Unless you could get an efficiency rental, there's not much point in making a booking to be able to walk on the beach for limited hours. It's not all day. You can't just drag all the chairs and toys down there with a cooler and umbrella and make a vacation day out of it.

This might be good for pent up cabin fever frustrations, but this is not opening the economy up.

To be fair, the seasonal flu takes all season to kill the number of people it does. All these corona deaths have happened in a far shorter period of time.

And it's not close to being done yet. It does appear to be much more lethal. Also, we have vaccines, treatments and immunity for the usual flu. We have no immunity to this. Those are big differences, which are why pretty much the entire world is taking this seriously. This world wide disease doesn't care about American politics. It is no wonder most people are taking a very cautious approach. That is warranted.

Great. What about sharing joints/drinks, or towels, etc? Even handing someone a beer from a cooler will spread the bacteria if it's present.

Think their cars are 6 feet apart in parking lots? Did the geniuses tape those off? How about all the businesss still open who WILL get all the folks coming from the beach for sodas, burgers, lotions, supplies.

First of all if I did make the decision to go on a outing with family members, I would still opt to keep it further away than I see these folks doing. Second of all, it's Flori-duh so all bets are off on the precautions these folks are taking because I do not even see them wearing masks.

The snowball has to start rolling somewhere. Heading off depression and anxiety is a good place to begin. Fresh air and
sunshine are essential for a feeling of well-being and peace on a deep level. Human beings are built for interaction...even
if it's at least 6 feet away for a while. It's a start towards getting your strength, energy and optimism for getting back to
work and a normal life.

Fair enough.

Fair point. What number per day dying is acceptable?

fair points. So what is the point which we give up our Constitution? It's rather dangerous flirting with concept right now when we have a president that can murder someone in broad daylight and none of his supporters would believe it.

What are we throwing away to slow the inevitable?

It is highly likely that this virus has been around since last year. Even officially case zero was detected on 20th January this year. This vaccine bullshit needs to be put to bed! In 2017-18 the vaccine was only 22% effective against Type A H3N2 which was why 80,000 people died in the US alone. I have absolutely no patience for the likes of PoliShitTalker, she's just another bullshitter ignore the bitch!

Yeah I'm pretty new here and I'm getting to know everybody. Thanks for the heads up
