Conservatives killed more Americans in last 4 weeks than AQ did last 19 years

So...

1) Since we know COVID-19 is extremely contagious...
2) And we know that going to a voting booth is risky given asymptomatic carriers...
3) And we know that the GOP and Trump opposes mail-in balloting...
4) Then how can you have an election if people can't go to the polls because of a pandemic they could catch and spread to vulnerable people?

And for those who have not lost their jobs it would be free money.

No it wouldn't be.

You didn't read the fine print of this legislation.

They're credits against future taxes paid.

So they're not "free checks". You're going to pay for it in next year's taxes.

So...

If you have no job because of COVID...

You aren't taking in a paycheck...

Which means a one-time check for $1,200 (which could take months before ending up in your mailbox) isn't going to help pay bills since this thing will last thanks to the poor response...

So how is this check any indication that Trump wants the election to happen?

Because he is not going to cancel the election. Want to make a bet?

I think you just want to create drama.

It might not have any effect, but if I wanted to crash the economy in order to cancel an election I would not be giving money away. Also, why would he want to stay in office that bad with his income and property values crashing?

The economy has already been crashed.

What we are talking about now is how the GOP and Conservatives are using it to maintain their hold on power.

All he did was make a phone call. How is he going to force states to stop holding elections? The states/parties chose to postpone primaries, not the president.

That phone call was an ext of extortion, and even several Republicans said so.

But nice to see what camp you fall in. So everything related to this COVID is also on you for defending and coddling Trump.

We could have removed him last month and had someone in there who knew what they were doing.

But you just had to coddle him, even after Adam Schiff warned you of exactly this.

So was your choice to defend and coddle Trump in February worth it, as you sit at home today in forced social distancing?

If he doesn't want to cancel the election, why does he oppose mail-in balloting?

Simple, he either wants people to risk their lives to vote against him, or he wants to keep people from going to the polls because they are fearful of catching the disease.

We will need an all-mail election anyway because this disease isn't going to magically vanish. It's going to stay around until the vaccine, which won't be until 2021 at the earliest. So voters shouldn't have to take their own lives into their hands just to vote, when 5 states, all Americans deployed overseas, all Americans abroad, and all absentee voters vote by mail anyway.

So OK, so the bar you're setting now (that you will move later) is evidence of someone considering cancelling the election.

Well, I would take opposition to mail-in balloting as a consideration to cancel the election.

5 states and all deployed service members (not to mention all Americans abroad and every absentee voter) already do mail-in balloting.

So opposing mail-in balloting for an election means...what?

Only you would conclude it would mean canceling an election. First, states determine whether they use mail-in ballots, the president has no authority in that area. You have 0 evidence of any attempt to cancel an election other than the unsupported assumption that Trump will lose the election. Since none of his supporters agree with you and his numbers are improving that destroys your basic premise.

Yes, the economies of countries around the world have been harmed due to the Chinese virus that the Chinese failed to contain.

Fear mongering, the far left loons are experts at it.

Never allow a crisis to be wasted.

Because he is not going to cancel the election

Hold on...you said that all he had to do was consider it.

I would take opposition to mail-in voting (the only way to safely guarantee everyone can vote) as an indication he wants to cancel the election.

If people can't vote at the polls because of COVID, the only way they can is by mail-in voting...which the GOP says they oppose.

So if there's no mail-in voting during a pandemic of a highly-contagious disease, what does that mean for the actual vote?

Flash...

Since COVID is highly contagious through human contact and touch...

and since there won't be a vaccine until 2021 at the earliest...

and since it's risky to go to the polls and vote (on touch-screen computers NO LESS!)...

by opposing the only safe way anyone can cast a ballot, you are in effect saying that there shouldn't be an election unless you think Americans should take their life in their hands just to vote.

So your position is that people should risk their lives just to vote in person? What is the alternative?

If he doesn't want to cancel the election, why does he oppose mail-in balloting?

He probably opposes mail-in balloting even if there was no crisis. He is afraid he will lose.

It is illogical to say opposing mail-in balloting means he is considering canceling the election. States can already choose to use mail-in ballots with or without his approval or the crisis. Many states already use mail-in ballots for seniors, disabled, etc.

Yes, keep the Commander-in Chief on the job.

He and his his team of top health professionals need to continue their heroic work.

The evidence is Trump's opposition to mail-in voting.

COVID isn't going to vanish by November. In fact, it will probably re-surge (that's what the models Fauci has shows), and if you have millions of people touching polling machines, knowing those people could be -at best- asymptomatic. So by going to the polls, the disease will spread.

So the only way around that is by all-mail voting, just like they do in 5 states, for all service-members, for all Americans abroad, and for all absentee voters.

So if you oppose mail-in balloting during a pandemic, you oppose even having an election.

We already have mail-in ballots. Trump's opposition is irrelevant--you are making a big deal of nothing.

Why would he lose?

Presidents get the blame or credit for things like poor economy or other problems.

And, he only got 44% of the popular vote and unless a lot of Democratic voters in 2016 have changed their minds he is still facing a very close election. He has the advantage of being an incumbent president but his approval numbers have never reached 50%.

Based on your theory Herbert Hoover, Jimmy Carter, and George H. W. Bush would have canceled their elections because they were going to get beat.
