Why should anyone pay off their debts now, when they know a bailout is coming.? I've never bought anything on credit in my life. I am really stupid.

march 14 2020 (CNN)President Donald Trump announced new measures on Friday aimed at easing the burden of student loans as universities and colleges across the country shut their doors in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

"I've waived interest on all student loans held by federal government agencies, and that will be until further notice," Trump said during an appearance in the Rose Garden, noting the number of schools that have sent students home amid the growing outbreak.

A Department of Education spokesperson said that under the new policy, any borrower with a federal loan -- including those in income-driven repayment and in forbearance -- will have interest waived until the temporary policy ends. The spokesperson added that the department does not know exactly how long the policy will be in effect.

The interest will be waived automatically, the spokesperson said, and the policy will be put into effect over approximately the next week, retroactive back to Friday's announcement by the President.

God, I hope this ushers in the end of student loans. Too many idiots with college degrees that can't even earn enough to pay them back.

If they had gotten a useful degree in say physics or engineering, they'd be ok. Instead they majored in Ancient Etruscan Mythology and partied for 4 years. I say hell with them.

They already received a legal settlement because the orange grifter was advised to pay up what he ripped them off of before his last campaign.

He probably heard that the pressure is on Biden to undo the damage he did and now cough up debt relief for students if he wants any Progressive support so Trump has to get in on the pandering action.

Trump never ripped off anyone. Trump U did a far better job of teaching kids than 99% of the colleges in america. All they do is spread hate-america propaganda. THINK
