Republicans will lose on abortion

For the sake of discussion say the Supreme Court did overturn R v W and it became a state's rights issue. And let's say several states decide to ban it. Talk about a culture war battle. We already saw certain businesses pull business from North Carolina after they passed their bathroom bill a few years back. How many businesses would vow to not do business in states that ban abortion? And if they are major employers how would the leaders of these states deal with it? Would they say F It, we don't need your jobs?

I suppose theoretically the opposite could be true as well........could some states tell the same companies that their products are no longer allowed to be stocked on store shelves in their state?......

It doesn't even matter if you could convince pro-choicers it's a full grown baby on day 0 of gestation. They do not care. They believe pregnancy by default makes women second class citizens, harming their ability to work/have careers, harming their economic parity with men, harming their overall freedom. They believe killing a developing baby and sucking it's brains out with a suction tube is a worthy price to pay. Of course, if you falcon punch them in the ovaries or put ru486 in their coffee because you don't want the kid either, they will still make sure you get charged with murder. It's only a human life when it is convenient.

...

Lets just have the intellectual honesty that you value your freedom more than the life inside you, even if it WERE a baby. Then we can at least have a honest conversation.

You lost the opportunity for an "honest conversation" with the first paragraph, above. False and inflammatory rhetoric shut that down like Todd "Legitimate Rape" Akin's fairy tale about pregnancy and rape.

Next?

In theory sure. But do you really think states will tell firms like Apple, Google, Uber etc. we don't want your services or your jobs?

That's a very good point. As we've seen with the corrupt IMPOTUS, money is the paramount concern to (R)s. A lot of "principles" will be swallowed as states pondering abortion bans watch their chances of attracting good employers fly away.

Meanwhile, women who cannot afford to travel to a state where the procedure is legal will still have abortions; they just won't happen in controlled and antiseptic facilities. The mortality and morbidity rates for young women will begin to rise, and negative attention will be focused on those states where it is happening.

As Grind said, fighting against abortion is a losing battle for the (R)s.

just as quickly as Google will tell that state it will punish it for passing laws they don't like.......think about that fact that about 40% of Americans are opposed to abortion, myself included........if Apple tells Wyoming that it's not going to sell products in Wyoming because it banned abortion, what are the odds I will buy an Apple product in Michigan........

Cause you lost the culture war fifty years ago but you’re still stuck in the 1950’s and wouldn’t know that.

That's a answer to a question that wasn't asked. It's not about culture.

Supporting innocent lives not being killed because of convenience has no decade.

As far as being altruistic and putting others before yourself, have kids and you will see what it is like putting your needs behind someone else’s.

That is something that many liberals seem unable to do. They talk about caring and compassion, and very few seem to act caring or compassionate,

For the record, I love abortion. It allows the unborn to escape the misery that leftists have inflicted upon the world and keeps the numbers of potential DEMOCRAT voters down.

When someone that spread her legs knowing she could get pregnant, whether that was her intention or not, killing the result for convenience is something the left believes is an act of caring and compassion.

Money is paramount to liberals as well. You don't proposed spending trillions upon trillions of dollars and then say money isn't important. It's important to all of us.

We as political partisans often like to ascribe these almost God like qualities to our political party's to justify our support for them. In reality they exist simply to garner the most number of votes to win elections. Thus they love wedge issues and abortion is definitely a wedge issue. As long as Republicans tell their supporters they are working to over turn it it garners them support. As long as Democrats can tell voters they are protecting abortion rights from Republicans it garners them support. They both love it.

Nott the Hoople must not have noticed that Salty Walty made a claim that he hasn't substantiated as yet.

He either didn't notice it, ignored it, or went with the 'because I said so' mindset Walt has.

Option 1 can be ruled out.

How cynical but probably true. Just imagine if the (R)s DID manage to ban abortion 100% across the entire nation. What would they use then to whip up the base?

That's why the wall will never succeed, terrorism will never be defeated, and abortion will still be legal. Without those, they have bupkes.
