White Nationalists v Democratic Socialists!

The flags represent that, and that's why those flags were erected during Jim Crow.

I understand, but it is still a protected first amendment right and does not make it intimidation or anything else illegal.

I don't like racism or any kind of hatred against anyone including the kind of hate you spew, but I am tolerant and very protective of constitutional rights.

No, because it meets none of the elements of the crime of intimidation.

Only because you don't think it's intimidating to you, personally.

So you're a narcissist if you think that just because something doesn't intimidate you means it doesn't intimidate others.

Does that mean that if we banned that flag, you would suddenly forget who lost the Civil War?

no, but give it a couple generations and it would be reduced to a simple conflict that the government stomped on, like the whiskey rebellion, or a small footnote to be ignored, like the battle of athens. It would also mean that the 1st Amendment would be null and void, based upon the majority viewpoint

Of course it was on the topic! The topic is the Confederate Flag.

No, this was the topic [Jarrod] "I wish some people were as unsettled by white nationalists as they are by democratic socialists."

That has nothing to do with a flag.

If I am marching down the road carrying that flag and nobody is offended by it, did I intimidate anybody?

Again, you don't know if anyone is offended by it or not, but offense isn't what's at stake...intimidation is.

It is impossible for a narcissist to ever gain the perspective that what is intimidating to them isn't what is intimidating to other people.

Then you go on to speak on behalf of other people, and you do that because that's what narcissists do.

You are a narcissist. You just are.

You need to go study the criminal statutes for intimidation. You confuse intimidation with offensive.

Intimidation is not determined by you, it's determined by the people who are the victims of it. You are not a victim of this intimidation and because you're a narcissist, you can't fathom how that flag could intimidate anyone else because you physically lack the capacity to do that.

NOBODY, least of all you, should ever predict what every single person on the planet is going to do

Go fuck yourself, crybaby.

simply because you just can't possibly know. doing so is only projecting YOUR reaction to it and prescribing it to all.

OK, so then I'll ask you the same question Flash is avoiding: from where could white supremacists ever gotten the idea that the Confederate Flag represents their views and beliefs?

I understand but it is still a protected first amendment right and does not make it intimidation or anything else illegal.

DO YOU?

I don't think you're getting it because now you're arguing that intimidation is OK so long as its state sanctioned.

So do you believe that to be true?

The only reason it was "legal" for those people to fly that flag and erect monuments to the men who fought under it was because they wrote the laws that made it possible for them to do so.

Like passing laws saying it is illegal to tear down Confederate monuments on state land.

That is state-sanctioned intimidation.

But only if you set aside your own personal comfort and put yourselves in the shoes of someone who isn't entitled and privileged like you.

You're privileged to not be a target of intimidation of what thaty flag represents, and because a narcissist like you isn't a target of it, can't possibly fathom how anyone else could be; That's the heart of the matter here.

Do you think black people should just get over it?

Go fuck yourself, crybaby.
a while back you proposed an agreement about insults between us..........this is the second time you've reneged on it. should I safely assume you were lying?

OK, so then I'll ask you the same question Flash is avoiding: from where could white supremacists ever gotten the idea that the Confederate Flag represents their views and beliefs?

you falsely assume that the confederate flag is nothing but white supremacy, which is easily debunked by the numerous pictures of blacks carrying the same flag.

Wow. Bravely taking a stand against racism. What's next, bravely taking a stand for oxygen?

It's not enough to simply be opposed to racism; you have to go farther and understand the effects of that racism, how it is conveyed, and what tools are used to advance it.

You're far too lazy, or far too scared, to do that kind of work.

Wait - back up.

So you think the Civil War is the same thing as the Whiskey Rebellion?

You don't seem to have a good grasp of history at all. A flag isn't going to help you get a better handle on that history. Books and museums would though. Which is where all that shit belongs.

you don't seem to have any comprehension. re-read my post again, thanks.

None of that overrides our constitutional rights or changes the legal requirements for intimidation which is the main point about waving a flag--not what it represents.

And, I am sure I understand those elements of racism better than you.
