Well recently, they tried the argument that the president could do whatever he wants in order to get reelected. So yeah, I think if Trump blatantly said he extorted Ukraine in order to get Biden out of the way, Republican Fascists would just say he was doing what he had to in order to get reelected.

That's a pile of bullshit. No one is blocking anyone. The partisan hacks in the Party of the Jackass are the ones who claimed that the evidence is overwhelming and compelling and they voted FOR the impeachment.

The Senate looks at that OVERWHELMING and COMPELLING evidence and votes to or not to convict. It's not their problem if the House RUSHED their case through in 48 days because it was so pressing it could not wait. Trump is rightly PRESUMED innocent until the hacks from the House PROVE their case.

Obstruction of Congress and Maladministration are not just weak and the lowest bar ever set by partisan hacks in the Congress, but they don't even meet the Constitutional requirement to remove a President.

Was he going to be acquitted with or without witnesses? Yes. They made the next mistake, hearings stopped in a sham trial.
