You have to conflate ‘race’ with ‘nationalism’ to make ethnic nationalism.

Any American can be a Trumpist nationalist, regardless of race. No doubt, some number of Hispanic Americans wish congress would get off their asses and do something about the border for purely *nationalist* reasons. A nation is a people who live within a shared border and have common concerns.

That form of nationalism has nothing to do with race. Not only is it benign—it’s a healthy outlook and should be encouraged.

Instead, it’s maligned.

Ethnic Nationalism is real Nationalism. Nationalism based on things like citizenship or religion never works, it's just a roadblock that's passed on the way to Globalism. This is why all of the Western countries are losing their National character and becoming more Globalist.

Trump can lie about being a Nationalist all he wants to suck up to the Alt-Right, but the truth is that outsourcing has increased under Trump. And that's because we're still becoming more and more multiracial.
 
So I think we have to begin with the most obvious question. Can any country in the world be said to have a succesfull economic model when they have pretty much outsourced their defense and military to the US?
 
It is strange to call Germans extremely pragmatic, but other than the times they were extremely unpragmatic (WWI, the Nazis, East Germany), they were actually extremely pragmatic. Bismarck was extremely pragmatic, and willing to use Social Democratic policies before almost anyone else. Bismarck actually knew Lassalle, the founder of the German Social Democrats better than almost all the German Social Democrats. Lassalle died unusually young.

German leaders until today have usually been more interested in what works over political dogma. That sometimes means capitalism, but also sometimes means limited socialism.

Germany continued to have conscription until 2011. They have a major military. The M1 Abrams was jointly designed by the USA and Germany.

The US has a lot of soldiers stationed in Germany, and Germany pays for all the land they use. That is not counted as defense spending. If it were, the Germans would spend roughly the same amount of GDP as the USA.

Germany has the strongest industrial sector among developed nations. It has a high standard of living. It has successfully integrated a large other country (East Germany). It has successfully integrated millions of workers from other parts of the EU. It is the strongest economy in the EU.

And all this after being completely defeated in two world wars, and divided for half a century.

I think Germany is very successful.

Once Germany loses control of Europe via the EU, it will go back to being the same bitter wasteland that it always has been.

Until the 19th Century it was the pitiful Holy Roman Empire, and then it became the Prussian States. As Germany, it lost the two world wars. So, basically, Germany has been successful for a very short span of time.

The Holy Roman Empire was hardly pitiful. And Prussia (which was ONE state) was one of the leading countries in Europe. Germany was also possibly the single most successful European country during the time of the German Empire.

Prussia was a disorganized mess of states. Its armies were recognized for their sophistication, and so became the backbone of other European powers when they went to war. The German Empire capped off its existence by losing WWI.

Oh dear. Please Google "Prussia." It wasn't a "mess of states," it was one single highly organized state. It was so well-organized, that it gave birth to the stereotype that Germans are all obsessed with orderliness.
