is biden alive? All i hear about is palin

Chapdog

Abreast of the situations
Why doesn't obama and biden fight back against the onslaught. Biden is pretty much useless. They should have taken jim webb

He's out on the stump every day, talking to people about the economy, and other things that the press doesn't want to talk about because they are too busy with their nonsense. Biden is out talking to voters in swing districts.

I don't know if that under the radar ground game is going to pay off over the bullshit about lipstick and pittbulls and pigs, but if it is it's the economy stupid, than I think it will.

He's cleaning up his racist past and getting his rebuttles ready.
What did he get like 1% against Clinton and Obama

i dont know, i was betting on obama win this election and now im starting to doubt it.. and my portfolio is showing those doubts. wall street has flip flopped to betting on a mccain victory.

The market sees the sudden turn of events with the McCain/Palin ticket - thinks they might win - and knows if they do that's the end of renewable energy tax credits. All's the existing members of congress have to do is "hold out" til January 1st and it's dead and gone.

Sound strange from the crew that supports drilling, etc? Not at all. The last thing oil wants is a competitor - even a tiny one like wind and solar. That's why the 8 defeats of the ITC in the congressional vote were straight down party lines. I looked up the votes. Overwhelming majority of Republican senators voted against the house bill each time.

If the McCain/Palin ticket wins it means that the small town still rules in America. Maybe Hilary had it right, America doesn't need Big City intellectuals who've made politics a theology of representation (depends on who, right?). No, America needs pistol-packin mommas, cowboy hats, blue collar workers and "folks" who down boiler makers at the local bar. It just amazes me how the slave class in America worships its overseers - the ones who pretend they're "just like them" but who have destroyed their healthcare protections, pays them $10/hour, and would dump em on the street in a minute if they crossed them. In the last election, Ohio, a swing state that had seen its manufacturing base destroyed by corporate downsizing and overseas deployment in the previous 4 years, voted for GW Bush because they though he was closer to God than John Kerry. Didn't matter what the economics of the situation were or how much worse they've gotten for that state in the last 4 years.

I keep thinking that I'll wake up from this bad dream; that there's something about being an American that's more than bullshit cloaked in folklore. That we're not just jerks who substitute "attitude" or euphemisms for something substantial. But maybe it's not. Maybe that's who we really are. And people like Barack and Biden - really any sort of intellectual politicians - deserve the faintly disguised envy and contempt they receive.

Maybe we need to elect McCain to his 4 year presidency, or have him die in office and get Britney Spears' mom for the Interim president? Can you just see her as VP presiding over the venerable senate?

There's a marvelous Russian proverb that explains the xenophobic nature of that country perfectly, which Gorky said had two main problems - fools and bad roads. (We don't have the roads, but maybe we have the fools.)

"The peasant came to the commissar and complained loudly that his neighbor had a cow and he didn't have one.

"So, I'll get you a cow", said the commissar, "then you can be just like him".

No! No! said the peasant. That's not what I want!

And to the commissar's dismay the man complained even louder.

In exasperation he asked him, "So what is that you DO want?"

"I don't want you to give me a cow. I want you to kill his cow!"

If McCain/Palin win this race it means that anti-intellectualism is still the modus operandi in the US, and you can forget about young people participating in politics in the future. They'll get the message loud and clear: the elections are a dog and pony show put on by the oil companies every 4 years for the entertainment of the electorate.

Ohh, I get it, you’re watching how the energy stocks are going. Right, renewable energy investments will be gone, got it. I’m very sad about all of this, but if this is what America wants, then they will die for it. And their children will die. That’s what global warming will do, and it will happen soon enough that your children will die, or have their homes destroyed and be homeless. And every time you even post something about the coming disaster, they laugh and call you a moonbat, and that is the country we live in, the celebration of ignorance. What are you going to do?

well on the bright side i think McCain is more moderate and more apt to do whats best for the country then Bush was. But thats just me always looking at the glass half full.

His choice of a running mate, a right wing religious whack global warming denier, when he is 72 years old, would belie that belief Chap. I’d like to believe it too. But I just don’t. He knows better, we know he knows better, but he’ll do anything, anything, at any cost, to be president. That is who he is today. And he’ll die, and it will be the rest of us who are nowhere near 72, including children just being born, who will pay the, just huge, price for the overriding ambition of his life.

He capitalized on the dems mistake to dismiss white women. What Palin is as a small town successful mom resonates with the reluctant obama former hillary supporters. Couple that with the fact shes the hardcore conservative that the evangelicals and religious right wanted and it was a no brainier for mccain. And to add icing on the cake she instantly has the oil companies behind her.

Now that its sunk in I go back to my initial assessment that it was a Brilliant move. I cant take that away from him. From Bob Dole status to to probable winner in Nov.

We just have to hope now that she does something stupid or did something non religious in her past like a porn.

who thinks the clintons called up rove or mccain and whispered Palin after she was bypassed for vp. LOL

Oh, I don’t think this is going to hold. She’s transparently unqualified, and also a way out of the mainstream radical. I don’ t put them as being the probable winners at this point, not yet anyway. I do admit to being taken off guard at how stupid people are. I’m disappointed in white women, I thought they were smarter than that. I don’t know if Democrats “dissed” white women. We can all say that Obama should have put Hillary on the ticket, and then this wouldn’t have happened. I don’t’ think he could put her on the ticket, only, and solely because of Bill Clinton. He’s got too much shit financial and otherwise around him, and that’s not what Obama is about. Could he have gotten away with it? Sure, a Republican would, and is right now. But it’s not what he is about. He could have went and just picked any ole white woman and slapped her on the ticket. Maybe in the end we will say he should have. Maybe this will work. Again, if it does, Americans deserve what’s coming to them, and to their own children. We have serious, real issues in this country, and on this planet. If all we are going to do is stage the “You Go Girlfriend” election, than we’re kinda doomed anyway. And we deserve to be.
